I can’t TELL you how much fun I had creating this shaped card! The idea for a pie shaped card suddenly came to me and I couldn’t rest until it was done, LOL! T
o begin, I cut a Sweet Tooth card stock card base with A2 Stitched Circle STAX to serve as the edge of a pie plate—I reinforced the fold with a strip of card stock on the inside. Next I added the filling, in the shape of a circle cut from Wild Cherry card stock. I’m hoping you can see the individual “cherries” I added by cutting more Wild Cherry card stock with Peek-a-Boo Polka Dot Die-namics and adhering each one to the “filling”. Next I added the lattice crust by cutting Kraft card stock with Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics, weaving them together, and adhering them on top of the filling. Then I cut more Kraft card stock with Stitched Mini Scallop Circle STAX Die-namics, cut out the center creating a “frame” and topped that with Kraft card stock cut with Linked Chain Circle Frames Die-namics. All edges were sponged with Tea Dye Distress Ink. The pie was done and now needed some decorating :)
I cut Sweet as Pie Die-namics from Kraft card stock and adhered Sweetie Pie Die-namics cut from Black Licorice card stock and popped it up on the pie. The mini pie was cut from No Line Coloring card stock colored with Copic markers and also adhered with foam tape. To finish, the sentiment, from Smitten with You was stamped on Wild Cherry card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut in pieces, and popped up at wonky angles for a touch of whimsy.
And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! Don’t forget that MFT will be giving away TWO $100 vouchers—to have a chance to win one, be sure to comment on each of the posts linked on the MFT Blog by end of the day on Thursday, January 9th.
