Nativity Silhouette - October MFT Release!

Hello! It's time for the October MFT Release! The new release is available now for purchase so be sure to head on over to the MFT Online Boutique and shop! And don't forget to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details, more inspiration, and a chance to win a prize!

I do love a good Nativity and this silhouette is gorgeous!! So happy to have it in my Christmas stamping arsenal! I love the size and the pieces included--just perfect!

I knew I wanted to try to light this baby up so I began but sponging the background using Broken China, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, & Black Soot Distress Inks, and adding detail with Sunrise Radiating Rays Stencil. The stars were created by spattering some white craft paint with a small art brush and set it aside to dry.

Nativity Silhouette Die-namics was cut from Black Licorice card stock and once the background was dry, I laid out everything until I was happy with the arrangement, at which time I punch the holes that would end up behind the star and the manger. Next I marked the holes on the Sweet Tooth card stock card base and adhered the light kit to line up with the holes and taped it down. "Press" from Interactive Labels stamp set was stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink on the card front over the switch, in a place I thought would be seen but not too distracting to the design, then popped the card front up on two layers of foam tape, testing light placement frequently during this process.

A strip of Black Licorice card stock was added across the bottom with a sentiment from RAM Away In a Manger Stamp Set, heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. The rest of the Nativity die cuts were then adhered with foam tape and this is the result! I love how it turned out and hope you do too!

And that's it from me for MFT's October Release! Thanks so much for stopping by--now go shop!

Silent Night - September MFT & Friends Feature

Hello! It's time for the September MFT and Friends Feature! The new release is available now for purchase so be sure to head on over to the MFT Online Boutique and shop! And don't forget to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details, more inspiration, and a chance to win a prize!

I love to create an aperture opening to frame a scene and the new Watercolor Wash Free Form Die-namics works a charm!! I used to love Oval STAX but since they were retired I've been without--I might just love this new product even better!!

To begin, I stamped the images on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers. Next, I cut the aperture from Sweet Tooth card stock and stamped the sentiment at the bottom. The background was sponged on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper using Fossilized Amber, Broken China, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, Black Soot Distress Inks, then adhered to a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

Diluted white craft ink was spattered on the background and images before assembly. The aperture was popped up on foam, then the images were added, also on foam. To finish off I scattered some music notes around, stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink.

What's Up, Witches? MFT & Friends August Feature

I hadn't had a chance to use this adorable TI Sweet Little Spell yet so I got her out for this card. To begin, I created my background using Wild Honey, Carved Pumpkin, Wilted Violet, and Black Soot Distress Inks. Once dry, I spattered with slightly watered-down white craft paint and set it aside to complete drying.

Next I stamped the image on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut it out with the Coordinating Die-namics, and colored it with Copic markers. Then I adhered the background onto a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape and began to create the rest of the components.

A2 Stitched Circle STAX and Sweet Tooth card stock for the big ol' moon, Grassy Edges Die-namics and Jalapeño Popper card stock for the foreground, Black Licorice card stock for Spooky House and Haunted House die-namics, and Orange Zest card stock for Spooky Fence which was sponged heavily with Black Soot Distress Ink to create the rusted look.

The sentiment was heat embossed on the Jalapeño Popper foreground before it was adhered, and all elements were adhered either directly or popped up on foam for dimension with a white gel pen used for the eyes on the bat.

Once all that was done the colored image was popped upon foam for the finish!

MFT & Friends, July Edition

Hello! It's time for the July
MFT and Friends Feature! The new release is available now for purchase so be sure to head on over to the MFT Online Boutique and shop! And don't forget to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details, more inspiration, and a chance to win a prize!

For my card today, I used one of the sentiments in Sassy Pants Birthday Greetings 3 for my inspiration. To begin, I sponged Lazy Day and Sour Apple dye inks on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper through Watercolor Wash Rectangle Stencil. Once dry, and leaving the stencil in place, I spattered with clean water.

Once THAT was dry I removed the stencil and spattered lightly with black acrylic ink then adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with narrow strips of Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper at top and bottom.

Next I stamped two images from BB Birthday Chicks Stamp Set, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers. The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock and popped up on the card front with foam tape. The chicks were also popped up on foam to complete the design.

I love this little set, especially this sentiment! And the new Braided Border Die-namics is amazing!!!

To begin this card I cut Braided Border Die-namics from Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock and sponged it with Salty Ocean Distress Ink to form a frame and stamped the sentiment with Extreme Black hybrid ink. Next I used Ocean Motion Stencil and again Salty Ocean Distress Ink to create my wave background and adhered it to the back of the die cut card front with foam tape before adhering the whole thing to a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

Next I stamped all the images on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored the line drawing images with Copic markers. To complete the card it was but a matter of adding the images to the frame--some directly and some popped up on foam for dimension.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

The little houses in My Neighborhood Die-namics are adorable!! And Right at Home Sentiments Stamp Set is a perfect to accompany it. To begin this card, on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper, I created my background using Oval Extraordinaire, Micro Cloud Edges, and Drifts and Hills Stencils, along with Lazy Day, Prickly Pear, Jalapeño Popper, and Gravel Gray dye inks.

Once the background was dry, I stamped the sentiment at the bottom and popped this panel up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape. next I cut the houses from Sweet Tooth card stock and colored one of them with Copic markers.

The houses were popped up on foam tape, the colored one a bit higher to add more contrast. And there you have it from me for MFT's May MFT and Friends feature! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

We Make the Perfect Pair - April MFT and Friends Feature

Hello! It's time for the April MFT and Friends Feature! The new release is available now for purchase so be sure to head on over to the MFT Online Boutique and shop! And don't forget to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details, more inspiration, and a chance to win a prize!

For today's card I'm using Tweet Memories Stamp Set and Die-namics from the April release. To begin, I stenciled Micro Cloud Edges Stencil on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper through Oval Extraordinaire Stencil using Broken China Distress ink. Then I used the negative from Oval Extraordinaire Stencil and sponged the "frame" with Kraft dye ink and Hickory Smoke Distress Ink around the edges. Leaving the negative in place, I spattered some clean water and then black acrylic ink for some interest, then adhered it directly to a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

The image was stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored with Copic markers, then popped up within the oval with foam tape.

The sentiment from the set was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with Essential Stitched Sentiment Strips and also popped up on foam. To finish off I added some Petite Clouds Die-namics cut from Sweet Tooth card stock and adhered with foam tape, as well.

And there you have it! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon, now go SHOP!
