Congratulations–C4C #223

C4C223_2014feb15

Hi, everyone, it’s Crazy 4 Challenges time! Today is sketch day and Kristine has a great sketch for us.

C4C223

As you can see, I flipped it for my card. For the (in my case) upper right corner element, I stenciled on some embossing paste using MPD Graduated Hearts Stencil, dried it with my heat tool, and then sponged on some Geranium Red Archival ink. Using my Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics, I cut a flag from some Sheet Music Background paper I had in my stash—it was stamped with Black Licorice ink on Sweet Tooth card stock. Then I added a Pierced Rectangle STAX Die-namics layer cut from Kraft card stock, trimmed down a bit, and topped with the larger Boy Meets Girl Die-namics cut from Black Licorice card stock. I added a heart in the right upper corner, cut with Staggered Heart Border Die-namics from Wild Cherry card stock and popped up on foam. The sentiment, from Essential Sentiments, was stamped with Sweet Tooth pigment ink on Wild Cherry card stock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. To finish it off, I added some sweet enamel dots. I’m kinda addicted to them ;-)

On the inside is a sentiment from More Essential Sentiments stamped with Black Licorice ink.

And that's it! Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you!

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C223.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Happy Anniversary–CTD #258

CTD258_2013sep4

Hey, there, everyone! It’s time again for the Color Throwdown! the fabulous Lynn has an awesome color combo for us to work with this week.

swatch 258

This color palette said “wedding” or “anniversary” to me so that’s what I went with. I used a Sweet Tooth card stock base card and added a Hot Fudge card stock layer. I made a frame with my Die-namics Rectangle STAX and popped it up on foam after laying down a Die-namics Modern Morocco layer. I added greenery with Die-namics Leaf-Filled Flourish, Die-namics Leafy Flourish, and Die-namics Royal Leaves. Die-namics Royal Rose and Die-namics Mini Royal Roses framed the sentiment strip, which was cut with Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon and stamped with a sentiment from Clearly Sentimental About Anniversaries in Hot Fudge ink. Some green sequins finish it off.

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set.

The Best Is Yet To Come–CTD #248

CTD248_2013jun26

Hey, there! It’s Wednesday so it’s time for Color Throwdown! Today sweet Broni has a sweet color combo for us:

swatch 248
I was in need of an anniversary card so I went all mushy with this design :) First, I stamped a Kraft card stock card base with the herringbone design from LJD Spring Backgrounds and Versamark ink. Then I cut out Die-namics MPD Rose Bouquet from Primitive White card stock and stamped the rose with Pink Lemonade ink. To get the contrast I simply stamped with the same color and the second stamp. I used Berrylicious ink for the leaves and stem and adhered them to a Primitive White card stock panel that was matted with Berrylicious card stock. The sentiment was stamped on a Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX die cut—to get the two fishtail ends, I rolled my die cutting machine almost all the way to the end, turned the die around and rolled it back, again avoiding the already-cut fishtail end. Then I stamped the sentiment, from Clearly Sentimental About Anniversaries, and scored and folded the ends, popping it up on foam. To finish off the card, I dotted some iridescent sequins here and there.

Here’s the inside, with another sentiment from the set:
