This Life Is Pretty Amazing–MFTWSC #89

MFTWSC89_2012sep12

Are you ready for another MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge? Here’s this week’s sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFTWSC89

I’m using the stamp set from Die-namics Vertical Greetings II Die & Stamp Set
for my card today. After I assembled my card base, I added two strips of the new Die-namics Harlequin for each horizontal element. Instead of brads at each end, I simple added some zig zag stitching. The tab at the top was made with my Die-namics Mini Tab Foursome (LOVE those little guys!) and, of course, there’s a Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX die cut. The sentiment was stamped on patterned paper, matted with Gumball Green card stock, and popped up on foam tape.

Here’
s the inside with another sentiment from the set:

Here are the
Die-namics dies I used on this card:

Time - CTD 127 and MFTWSC5

Here we are again for another Color Throwdown challenge and MFT's Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Kristin chose this week's colors and here they are for your inspiration.

Soooo, here's my card. You can see I flipped the focal element to accommodate my sentiment. I embossed the Kraft layer with my Clockworks embossing folder to give it a little interest. The sentiment, from Clearly Sentimental About Time, was stamped on one part of the Layered Labels Die-namics die cut and popped up. Then I added some blue ribbon, a button tied on with baker's twine, and some of the awesome Mini Rolled Roses Die-namics roses. I used the Jumbo Scallop and Scalloped Scallops Die-namics dies for the bottom border.

And here's the inside, with more scallops and another sentiment from the set.

Thinking Of You - MFTWSC #4 and Color Throwdown #126

Are you ready for another MFTWSC and Color Throwdown all wrapped up into one card?

First the sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter.  The Challenge and Design Teams will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

And, Danielle is the Color Throwdown host this week and chose these colors:

Perfect for Basic Grey's Marjolaine paper.

I stamped little PI - Because You're Special on a Perfect Paper Panel (temporarily out of stock) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored her with Copic markers and paper pieced her sweet little dress. Then I cut her out, popped her up on a patterned paper circle matted with a Dainty Doily Die-namics layer in Blue Bayou. I tied a big ol' green bow around the base card and added the sentiment flag. Adorable, no?!

Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Other MFT products I used are Whip Cream and Blue Raspberry card stock, and a button from the Chocolate Kiss collection, tied on with some baker's twine that my sweet friend Jody sent me. Thanks, girlie!

Other MFT products I used are Whip Cream and Blue Raspberry card stock and a button from the Chocolate Kiss Collection.

Have a Cool Yule

Hey, there, peeps! Today I have a card for three challenges. First, it's the last Color Throwdown of the year. Our Lil' Inker, Laura, chose this week's colors and here they are:

It's also Wednesday Stamp Club over at the MFT Member Forum on SCS. Today's challenge is "Winter Wonderland".

And finally, I'm using Mojo Monday Sketch #168 for my layout. I flipped the base card, but it's there :)

I stamped the bear from Cool Yule on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and did minimal coloring with Copic markers, then I paper piece his scarf. I used the Oval Chain Die-namics die for the little horizontal element and the Snowflake Trio Die-namics die along with a button from the Chocolate Kiss collection and some red and white baker's twine. The sentiment was stamped on the end of the Textile Rectangle Die-namics die. Makes a nice little frame for it, don't you think?

And here are the few Copics I used.

Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Grateful For You - CTD #120 and MFT WSC

Is everyone here in the US ready for Thanksgiving? Tomorrow's turkey day so if you're not, time's running out! I have a Thanksgiving card for you today, using both the Color Throwdown colors and the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club challenge: Thankful for...or Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for many things, not the least of which is the many friendships I've developed through my stamping hobby. Sending Happy Thanksgiving wishes to all my US peeps!

Now, on the the challenges. Danielle picked these colors and I love them!

I couldn't resist bringing out my Basic Grey Indian Summer paper for one last card of the season. I didn't use Old Olive--Kiwi Kiss seems to go better with it so I went with that.

My layout is very simple--shows off those gorgeous papers better :) The sentiment frame was stamped with the Polka Dot Greetings frame and cut out with the matching die, and the sentiment itself is from Framed Greetings.

Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. CTD #119 and MFT Wednesday Stamp Club

Happy Wednesday! I have a multi-purpose card to show you today, LOL! First, it's my Color Throwdown card. I'm the host this week and I chose these colors:

I was thinking "Fall" when I chose them, but I wanted to do this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club challenge over on the Member Company Forum on SCS, so I sorta changed course a little. I decided to go with this Devonshire paper from Kaisercraft that has all the colors in it and I worked it into the challenge, which is to be inspired by something from the lyrics of My Favorite Things from The Sound Of Music (ACK! run-on sentence, LOL!). So, I'm thinking "Raindrops (the blue and the dots on the green paper) on roses (obvious)" and "Brown paper packages (Fossil card stock), tied up with string (also obvious)." And the sentiment, of course--not *too* obvious, is it? ;-) What do you think--is it workin' for ya? We hope you'll come along and play and show us some of YOUR "favorite things".

I'm using the Framed Greetings Die-namics Die and Stamp Set for this card, stamped on Fossil with Early Espresso ink. Simple layout, with simple embellishments: some twill, a button, and twine.

And finally, this card will also fit the Dirty Dozen Central Theme for this month over on SCS--Well Read. There are tons of books on roses of course, but one of my favorites is Classic Roses by Peter Beales, an English hybridizer.

Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD119 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week. You'll notice a familiar name on the DT line up--YES, Cathy Indelicato is back! Cathy took a little blogging break and is this is her first week back with the Throwdown! We're SO glad to have you back with us, Cathy!
