One Day Until MFT's October Card Kit, Happy Ho-Ho-Holidays, Release!

It's the one and only countdown day for MFT's October Card Kit, Ho-Ho-Holidays!! This kit has an interactive component that is super simple to use but there are countless other ways to use it! The kit releases tomorrow, October 12, at 10am Eastern so set your clocks--and don't forget to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details and some inspiration from the design team.

The Happy Ho-Ho-Holidays Card Kit includes the following products:
Happy Ho-Ho-Holidays Stamp Set
High Flying Die-namics
Christmas Cheer Paper Pad
Silver Mini Round Brads
Pennies
Card Stock - Smooth White (5), Cotton Candy (1), Ripe Raspberry (1), Wild Cherry (1), Field Day (1), Jalapeno Popper (1), Sno Cone (1), Caribbean Sea (1)
The Happy Ho-Ho-Holidays Die-namics will be available as a separate purchase.
The Free with $60 releasing with this kit is Merry Christmas Tree Stamp Set.

I wanted Santa to fly though the sky with Rudolph at the helm so after stamping and coloring the images, I connected them to each other and to the mechanism from High Flying Die-namics with clear acetate card stock. It took a couple of layers of foam tape and the penny weighs the pendulum for this adorable design!

Once that was done I created the scene, cutting the clouds from Sweet Tooth card stock and the super cute "town" from Black Licorice card stock after heat embossing the sentiment from the set.

The remaining colored images were likewise popped up on foam to finish the scene then spattered white craft paint all over to simulate snow falling.

And there you have it from me for the solo countdown day for MFT's October Card Kit, Ho-Ho-Holidays!

Thanks for Stopping by--see you back tomorrow for the release!

Wishing You a Harvest of Blessings - Color Throwdown Challenge #663

Hey there and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Miss Broni is our hostess and she has a gorgeous palette of decidedly Fall colors for us to play with.

I'm using BB Harvest Mouse stamp set and Die-namics for my card. The images were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut with the coordinating Die-namics and colored with Copic Marker.

The background was created by sponging Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Carved Pumpkin, Hickory Smoke, and Brushed Corduroy Distress Inks through Watercolor Wash Free Form Stencil and spattering with matching  re-inkers.

The sentiment was stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink and the card front was adhered directly to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. The images were popped up on foam for the finish.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD663 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd663 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

Nativity Silhouette - October MFT Release!

Hello! It's time for the October MFT Release! The new release is available now for purchase so be sure to head on over to the MFT Online Boutique and shop! And don't forget to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details, more inspiration, and a chance to win a prize!

I do love a good Nativity and this silhouette is gorgeous!! So happy to have it in my Christmas stamping arsenal! I love the size and the pieces included--just perfect!

I knew I wanted to try to light this baby up so I began but sponging the background using Broken China, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, & Black Soot Distress Inks, and adding detail with Sunrise Radiating Rays Stencil. The stars were created by spattering some white craft paint with a small art brush and set it aside to dry.

Nativity Silhouette Die-namics was cut from Black Licorice card stock and once the background was dry, I laid out everything until I was happy with the arrangement, at which time I punch the holes that would end up behind the star and the manger. Next I marked the holes on the Sweet Tooth card stock card base and adhered the light kit to line up with the holes and taped it down. "Press" from Interactive Labels stamp set was stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink on the card front over the switch, in a place I thought would be seen but not too distracting to the design, then popped the card front up on two layers of foam tape, testing light placement frequently during this process.

A strip of Black Licorice card stock was added across the bottom with a sentiment from RAM Away In a Manger Stamp Set, heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. The rest of the Nativity die cuts were then adhered with foam tape and this is the result! I love how it turned out and hope you do too!

And that's it from me for MFT's October Release! Thanks so much for stopping by--now go shop!
