Grand Peaceful Wildflowers–MFT December Release Countdown, Day Seven

teaser1a_2013dec4

Hey, everyone! It’s time for MFT’s December Release Countdown! Release is on December 10th at 10pm, but in the meantime, be sure to hop on over to the MFT Blog to see what the participating designers have for you today, along with some ways to snag some free stuff!

Countdown7

Today is day seven and I have a couple of cards for you using a new set by Lisa JohnsonLJD Grand Peaceful Wildflowers. The images are like the ones in LJD Peaceful Wildflowers only larger. I love them but sometimes you want a larger image…you know, to fill up more of your space? Well this is it :)

My first card is using what has become a favorite technique of mine, chalkboard. I thought the subdued look would be good for a sympathy card, how about you? I started with a Steel Gray card stock base, then trimmed a layer and embossed the flowers. I stamped with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and use white embossing powder, then swiped on some ink on the stamped panel and heavier around the edges to “frame” it, then popped it up on foam. Then I stamped the sentiment from LJD Grand Peaceful Wildflowers with Steel Gray ink on Sweet Tooth card stock cut with last month’s Banner Greetings Die-namics die—I curved the sentiment slightly on my block to follow the curve of the banner. I popped it up on foam and finished off with a few clear gems.

On the inside is another sentiment from the set—I love the font used in this set.

My second card is a little more colorful and uses a new color for this month: Insulation Pink. Insulation pink is a pale peachy pink and I.am.in.love with it—you’ll be seeing lots of this from me :)

I started with an Insulation Pink card stock base, then trimmed a Sweet Tooth card stock layer, popped up on foam. Then I cut out the LJD Grand Peaceful Wildflowers Die-namics and stamped the flowers with, left to right, Banana Split ink, Grapesicle ink, Sour Apple ink, Pink Lemonade ink, and Insulation Pink ink, then adhered them to the white panel. I stamped the sentiment on a First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics flag, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock and stamped with Steel Gray ink, and popped it up on foam. I finished up with a hemp cord-tied Insulation Pink button.

For the inside, I added another flower and another sentiment from the set.

And there you have it! Day Seven of the countdown! See you back later for this week’s MFTWSC and tomorrow for another look at the December release!

  18. Such totally different looks and each so beautiful. The wildflower stamps are pretty enough to stand out all in white. Then the soft colors of your bouquet give it an entirely new look.
