Hi, there and welcome to this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge! Lori is our host this week and she’s got a really sweet color combo for us—one that can be interpreted in many different ways, I think.
I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then watercolored through Split Diagonal Stencil on Ranger watercolor paper with Coral Crush dye ink, Pink Lemonade dye ink, and Sour Apple dye ink, along with black from my Kuratake watercolor set. I “piped” the edge with Black Licorice card stock and popped it up on foam mounting tape. Next I cut Brushstroke Birthday Greetings Die-namics three times from Black Licorice card stock, adhered them together for dimension, and adhered them to the stenciled panel. I cut three balloons from BB Birthday Bears Die-namics, stamped the coordinating balloons from BB Birthday Bears with Black Licorice hybrid ink and watercolored them, as well. I tied a bow around cut from Black Licorice card stock with Blueprints 26 Die-namics and popped the balloon cluster up, then finished off with some enamel dots and silver glitter stars.
And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD350 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd350 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented June Guest Designer, Valentyna Komisarenko!
