My Favorite Things January Release Countdown, Day Four

Hello and welcome to Day Four of MFT’s January Release Countdown! Did you love what you saw yesterday? Today we’re previewing BB Viking Stamp Set, BB Viking Die-namics, From the Heart Stamp Set, Hearts in a Row - Vertical Die-namics, Hearts in a Row - Horizontal Die-namics, In Paris Stamp Set, In Paris Die-namics, Linked Chain Oval Frames Die-namics, and Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper.

How adorable is this Viking from Birdie Brown? I just love him and wanted to created a fairly realistic scene behind him so I watercolored the sky and water added Stitched Mountain Range Die-namics, and Grassy Fields for him to stand on.



I stamped him with the new Extreme Black hybrid ink and colored him with Copics then popped him up on foam. Some clouds and a sun and it was done!

My second card uses the new In Paris Stamp Set and In Paris Die-namics for a dreamy scene.



I did a little research before starting this card and found an antique post card that inspired me. First I stenciled the background with Mini Cloud Edges Stencil, then I added Our Town Die-namics cut from Grout Gray card stock and added grass cut with Spring Scene Builder Die-namics.



Next I stamped the sentiment and all the images from In Paris, cut them out with the coordinating dies, colored with Copics, and popped them up in the scene.

My Favorite Things January Release Countdown, Day Five

Hi everyone! It’s time for MFT’s January 2018 Release Countdown Kickoff! Release is on January 9th at 9pm Eastern. Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details. Today we’re previewing Ewe and Me Forever Stamp Set, Ewe and Me Forever Die-namics, Mini Well-Connected Alphabet & Numbers Stamp Set, Raving Raccoons Stamp Set, Raving Raccoons Die-namics, Peek-a-Boo Striped Heart Die-namics, and a new hybrid ink, Extreme Black Hybrid Ink Pad and Extreme Black Hybrid Ink Refill!


I have a couple of cards for you today, starting with one highlighting Peek-a-Boo Striped Heart Die-namics. To begin, I stamped Sweet Tooth card stock lightly with Grout Gray dye ink and Romantic Script Background then splattered it with watered down black craft paint. Then I cut it with Peek-a-Boo Striped Heart Die-namics. I popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base but first slipped in some Ranger Watercolor Paper under the heart on which I’d applied a watercolor wash.



Next I added the sentiment, which was stamped with Mini Well-Connected Alphabet & Numbers Stamp Set (I LOVE this set!! Sometimes the original set is just a little large for a sentiment strip but this is perfect!) on Grout Gray card stock cut with Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips. Then I added a little bouquet composed from Mini Royal Roses, cut from, top to bottom, Poppy, Coral Crush, and Peach Bellini card stocks and Fab Foliage cut from Sour Apple and Jellybean Green card stocks. I finished off with Strawberry Coulis Nuvo Jewel Drops, Gloss Apple Green Nuvo Crystal Drops, and Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Next up this darling set, Ewe and Me Forever.



All of the little images are girls but I wanted a boy so I masked off the bow area and drew it back in with a Copic Black Multiliner after I stamped them with the new Extreme Black hybrid ink and then colored them with Copics. I set them in a scene created within an Inside & Out Stitched Oval STAX opening



The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics.

Hello–My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #366

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I decided to use Beautiful Butterflies for my three vertical elements and put the sentiment strip UNDER the bottom element instead of on top. For my background, I sponged Sweet Tooth card stock with Berrylicious dye ink and splattered with watered down black craft paint and an art brush. I stamped the two-stage butterflies with Black Licorice dye in and, top to bottom, Daffodil, Razzle Berry, and Orange Zest dye inks.



The sentiment is from You Give Me Butterflies and was stamped on Sweet Tooth card stock cut with Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-namics and popped up on foam. The butterflies were also adhered with foam tape and it was done.

Sending You Strength–CTD #474

Hello everyone and welcome to the first Color Throwdown Challenge of 2018! Amy Rohl is our hostess this week and she has chosen some neutral colors based on her seasonal inspiration piece.



I wanted to play on the inspiration piece as well as the colors so I started with a Stone Gray card stock card front and stamped Modern Trees with Black Licorice hybrid ink. I splattered some white craft paint for snow, then added Snow Drifts Die-namics cut from Whip Cream card stock.



Before popping the front layer up on foam tape, I stamped the sentiment from Essential Sentiments. To finish, I added a little birdie from Sweet Forest Friends, colored with Copic markers.
