Friends Furever–MFT August Release Countdown, Day Three

Today we’re previewing PI Tu-tu Sweet Stamp Set, PI Tu-tu Sweet Die-namics, Dog-gone Awesome Stamp Set, Dog-gone Awesome Die-namics, Cute Cats Stamp Set, Cute Cats Die-namics, and Birthday Balloon Die-namics - previous free die.


These critters are dog-gone cute, aren’t they? I just couldn’t resist combining the sets and that sentiment clinched the deal and I went with a CAS design to show off these adorable cuties. I sponged Berrylicious dye ink for the background and popped it up on the card base with a strip of Plaid Patterns Paper Pack along the bottom after tying around some baker’s twine.



The images were stamped with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink on No-Line Coloring card stock and colored with Copic markers. I popped them up on foam on the card front and finished off with a few Sprinkles to match the patterned paper.

Frightfully Sweet–MFT August Release Countdown, Day Four

Hello and welcome to Day Four of MFT’s August Release Countdown! Release is on August 7th at 9pm Eastern. Don’t forget to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details. Today we’re previewing BB Frightfully Sweet Stamp Set, BB Frightfully Sweet Die-namics, Puzzle Cover-Up Die-namics, Captivating Mandala Background, Captivating Mandala Die-namics, Captivating Mandala Stencil, Large Rectangle Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics, and Large Rectangle Shaker Pouches.

I’m using BB Frightfully Sweet Stamp Set and Die-namics for my shaker card today also using the new Large Rectangle Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics. To begin, I stamped the little bunny and candy images with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink on No-Line Coloring card stock and colored them with Copic markers.



Then I sponged the background, added some watered-down and splattered Copic Opaque White and Grassy Edges Stencil across the bottom, heat embossed the sentiment, and cut the shaker element out along with the frame. I filled the shaker pouch with Prills, Silver Shimmer Seed Beads, and the colored candy images, closed it up, and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape. To finish, I popped the adorable bunny up with foam tape and was done.

Miss You–MFT August Release Countdown, Day Five

Oh, I do adore these poppies so I had to use them for my card today! I decided to try some no line coloring for them and although I’m not really very good at it I do like the airy look they have with this technique. I stamped the images with Cement Gray Hybrid Ink on No-Line Coloring card stock and colored them with Copic markers. The card background was done with a watercolor wash on Ranger Watercolor Paper and I splattered it with black Liquitex ink before adhering it to the Sweet Tooth card stock base.



I created a frame using Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper and A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 and popped it up on the base with foam tape. I popped the poppies up in the frame and finished off with Miss You Die-namics, cut from Black Licorice card stock three times, stacked, and adhered with foam tape as well.

Have a Clawsome Day–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #396

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I happened to have this background sitting on the back of my desk and as I looked at it I thought it would work for this sketch. I roughly echoes the elements so I just added a few other things to complete a scene. The background was watercolored with Peerless Watercolors and popped up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base.



I added some Puffy Clouds Die-namics, a sun cut with Beach Scene Builder, and a couple of images from Just Beclaws Stamp Set and Die-namics. The sentiment is from the same set and was heat embossed and popped up on foam for dimension.

Thanks–Color Throwdown Challenge #504

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week our hostess is Amy Rohl and she is challenging us to use this dramatic color combo on our projects: Black, white, and copper (or rust).





Sooooo, in keeping with the theme, I went kinda dramatic with my card! I created the background on Yupo paper with an alcohol ink—Pitch Black—and lots of working it with alcohol. I was going for a marble or granite look. Once that was done a added some Sunkissed Copper Nuvo Gilding Flakes—OMG, those things are messy!! But I love the look they give so I put up with it. Then I matted it with Black Licorice card stock and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base.



Next I added Single Stitch Line Tag-Corner Rectangle Frames Die-namics cut from Black Licorice card stock and also popped up on foam, a panel of Black Licorice card stock and one of Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper. I cut Thanks & Hello Die-namics from Black Licorice card stock three times, stacked them for dimension, and adhered to the striped paper. To finish off and continue the copper theme, I cut Falling Leaves Die-namics from Copper Shine card stock and popped them up on foam.
