MFT August Card Kit, Beautiful Bloom–Countdown Day Two

Hello and welcome back to Day Two of MFT’s August Card Kit Countdown. This month’s kit is Beautiful Bloom and is chocked full of gorgeousness. For today’s card I wanted to feature the Beautiful Bloom itself. I stamped it on No-Line Coloring Card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut it out with the coordinating die, and colored it with Copic markers. Once I was done, I added some Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops as accents.



While the drops were drying, I prepped my card base by adhering a strip of Black & White Stripes Paper Pack or a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then popped up a panel of Sweet Tooth card stock on foam tape. Then I popped up the colored image and added the sentiment, from Hello, Beautiful Stamp Set, heat embossed on Heavyweight Vellum, cut with Essential Slanted Sentiment Strips and matted with another cut from Black Licorice card stock. To finish, I added some matte sprinkles to match.

MFT August Card Kit, Beautiful Bloom–Countdown Day One

OMGosh! I am head over heels in love with this kit! Beautiful Bloom Stamp Set and Die-namics can be used so many ways, and Beautiful Die-namics made me swoon! And did I mention Essential Slanted Sentiment Strips?? Be still my beating heart!!! This seriously is one of my very favorite card kits EVER.

For today’s card I wanted to do Beautiful Die-namics in a rainbow and thought that would best be displayed on a sort of neutral background. So, I stamped Beautiful Bloom multiple times on No-Line Coloring Card Stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink and colored them images with Cool Gray Copic markers and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Next I cut Beautiful Die-namics from No-Line Coloring Card Stock and colored it in a rainbow pattern then adhered it to the coordinating mat. This is the first time I’ve used this particular rainbow combo and I’m loving it. Also LOVE the mat!



Next I heat embossed the sentiment from Hello, Beautiful Stamp Set on Black Licorice card stock and popped it up on foam, then popped the rainbow sentiment on top. To finish off, I added Sprinkles to match the rainbow colors and was done.

Celebrate Your Special Day–MFT August Birthday Project Challenge

I love CAS cards so this was right up my alley! And I had not had a chance to use Mini Balloon Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics yet so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity! I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock panel and cut the shaker window at a bit of any angle. Then I dry embossed with Sunrise Radiating Rays Stencil, centering the window in the “sun” area of the stencil. I created the shaker element using a Mini Balloon Shaker Pouch, Cross My Heart Nuvo Pure Sheen Confetti, and some little streamers (included with the balloon shaker set) cut from Silver Shine card stock.I closed it up and added the frame and string, cut from Silver Sparkle card stock.



Next I cut Celebrate Die-namics from Black Licorice card stock and popped it up on foam and added the sentiment—a partial one from Fluttering Friends Stamp Set, heat embossed on Translucent Vellum. To finish off I cut some stars with Tag Builder Blueprints 6 Die-namics from Pure Plum Sparkle Card Stock and scattered them around.

Witching You the Best Day Ever–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #398

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I was looking over my stamps to see what I had TWO of and my eyes fell on the two adorable witches in BB Frightfully Sweet Stamp Set. So I set out to see if I could make them work. I started by sponging Grape Jelly dye ink on Mini Cloud Edges Stencil all over a panel of Sweet Tooth card stock, then cut the two opening with Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics. I added a strip of Black & White Stripes Paper Pack and a smaller strip of Black Licorice card stock, reinserted the die in the bottom opening and ran it through again. Then I heat embossed the sentiment and popped the whole thing up on a Grape Jelly card stock base.



Next I stamped the images with Extreme Black hybrid ink on No-Line Coloring card stock, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers, and popped them up within the circles. To finish off I added some matching Sprinkles.
