Sending You Love and Peace–Color Throwdown Challenge #542

Hey there, welcome to a brand new
Color Throwdown Challenge! I’m hosting this week so I hope to see lots of you in the gallery. My inspiration piece is a wreath that I just love.

I used Splendid Swans stamp set and Die-namics which, sadly, has recently been retired. Hopefully I’ll give you some ideas if you have this set in your stash, though. I started by stamping Wavy Coloring Book Background on Sweet Tooth card stock and heat embossing with white detail embossing powder then popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

Next I used a watercolor wash panel cut with Elegant Rectangle STAX Die-namics that I had in my stash and also popped it up on foam. The images were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, colored with Copic markers, and added to the sweet scene with foam tape. The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics. I finished off with a few clear droplets.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD542 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd542 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, along with our super talented May Guest Designer, Cécile Ribon!

Sweet Birthday Wishes–May MFT & Friends Feature

All of our May Release products are available in the
MFT Online Boutique NOW! Today our team is taking a fresh look at our most recent release with inspiring ideas and innovative takes on the complete collection. We love the opportunity to look at our products with fresh eyes, envisioning entirely new ways to showcase the possibilities they present. We can’t wait to share our ideas with you so be sure to also stop by the MFT Blog to see who else is participating!

I hadn’t had a chance to use the SUPER cute Watermelon Die-namics, Sweet Die-namics, or Sweet Sentiments so I got them out for today’s card. If you saw my Pure Innocence card earlier in the Countdown you saw that I discovered that Watercolor Stripes Background makes a PERFECT watermelon rind background so I did that again today using Gumdrop Green Premium Dye Ink on Sour Apple card stock. I adhered a strip of it at either end of a Sweet Tooth card stock base and proceeded to assemble the watermelon slices (card stock I used is listed below).

Once I had them assembled, I tied two colors of baker’s twine (to match my watermelon flesh) around a Sweet Tooth card stock panel and popped it up on foam tape on the card base. Then I cut and assembled Sweet Die-namics and popped it up to overlap Sweet Sentiments Stamp Set heat embossed on a Skinny Strips Die-namics for the finish.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! Visit each of the May Product Launch posts linked on the MFT Blog and leave a comment by the end of the day on Thursday, May 9, for your chance to WIN one of two, $100 MFT Shopping Sprees. The winners will be chosen at random and winners will be announced May 10. Start now because you don’t want to miss a single post!

See you soon!

Hopping to See You Soon - MFT May Release Countdown, Day Two

Hello and welcome to Day Two of
MFT’s May Release Countdown! It’s getting closer! Release is on May 5th at 10am Eastern. Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all of today’s details. Today we’re previewing Kangaroo Crew Stamp Set, Kangaroo Crew Die-namics, Branch Out Die-namics Sweet Besties Stamp Set, and Sweet Besties Die-namics.

I’m using Kangaroo Crew Stamp Set and Die-namics from the May release today. First I stamped the images on No Line Coloring Card Stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink and colored them with Copic markers. The I created my background by sponging Berrylicious dye ink for the sky and Gumdrop Green dye ink using Drifts & Hills Stencil on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper.

After stamping the sentiment and the “hoppy lines”, I adhered that to a sweet Tooth card stock base. Then I directly adhered a sun, cut from Lemon Drop card stock with Circle STAX Set 1 Die-namics, and the images, most popped up on foam tape and was done!

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for the last day of MFT’s May Release Countdown!

I Love You, Seeds and All–MFT May Release Countdown, Day Three

Hi everyone and welcome to Day Three of MFT’s May Release Countdown!! It’s flying by, peeps, and don’t forget that release is on May 7th at 10am Eastern! Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details! Today we’re previewing PI Sweet Summertime Stamp Set, PI Sweet Summertime Die-namics, Watermelon Slice Die-namics, Sweet Sentiments Stamp Set, and Sweet Die-namics.

OMGoodness! How stinkin’ adorable is this new Pure Innocence??? I just adore her and couldn’t wait to color her!! I began by stamping her with Extreme Black hybrid ink on No Line Coloring card stock, then cut her out with the coordinating Die-namics and colored her with Copic markers. Next I sponged the background using Berrylicious Premium dye ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Then I realized that Watercolor Stripes Background looked a lot like watermelon rind so I stamped it on Green Room card stock with Field Day dye ink and WOW!! I love it! So I added a panel of it to the bottom of my base along with a narrow strip of Black & White Dots Paper Pack.

Next I added Grassy Fields Die-namics cut from Green Room and Field Day card stocks and adhered them, the front one popped up on foam tape and including the sentiment. I added a sun cut from Lemon Drop card stock with Circle STAX Set 1 Die-namics and some Puffy Clouds Die-namics before adhering the image, also with foam tape. To finish off I added a bunch of seeds cut from Black Licorice card stock with Watermelon Slice Die-namics. I seriously love this card!

And that’s it from me today! Thanks SO much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow with Day Two of MFT’s May Release Countdown!
