Newton's Nook Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop

Hi there, I’m back today and tickled pink to be participating in Newton’s Nook Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop!!



For this card I’m using Festive Fawns Stamp Set and Mountains Stencil, which is a genius product!!! I started by stenciling the mountains using Weathered Wood Distress Ink and added the snow caps using molding paste then sponged the sky with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and splattered some clean water over all. Once that dried I stamped the sentiment using black ink.

While that was drying I stamped the images with Copic friendly ink and paper, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut them out. The only thing left to do was to pop them up on foam tape to finish off!

MFT December Release Countdown Kickoff—Five Days Until the New Release!!

Hello and welcome to Day Five of MFT’s December Release Countdown! Release is on December 10 at 10am Eastern so mark your calendars. Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details. Today we’re previewing Magical Friends Stamp Set, Magical Friends Die-namics, Rose Garden Stamp Set, Rose Garden Die-namics, and Here's a Huge Hug Stamp Set.

I decided to use Here’s a Huge Hug Stamp Set, thinking it would be awesome to over stamp it on a stenciled image. I thought using pastel colors would best show it off so I started by applying Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass, Shabby Shutters, Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, and Tattered Rose Distress Inks through Captivating Mandala Stencil.

Once that was done and dried, I over stamped Here’s a Huge Hug Stamp Set with Extreme Black hybrid ink. This was done on a Sweet Tooth card stock A2 panel and then adhered to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. I finished off with some enamel dots—I thought glitter enamel dots would be appropriate for this stamp set, how about you?

Newton's Nook Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Featured Guest

Hello everyone! I am so excited to be the Featured Guest today for Newton’s Nook Deck the Halls with Inky Paws week!! How cool is that, right?




I had so much fun playing with these images from Christmas Trimmings Stamp Set! This looks so familiar, right? To begin, I sponged a simple background using Tumbled Glass and Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and stamped the sentiment with black ink. The main image was stamped on Copic friendly paper with Copic friendly ink, colored with Copic markers, and fussy cut out.

I love to use small images to create backgrounds and borders so I did that with the ornament image on a white card stock card base and colored it with Copic markers. Once that was done I adhered the background panel with foam tape, tied around some baker’s twine, and popped the large image up on foam tape as well for the finish!

Have a Magical Christmas–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #466

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.




I created an adorable scene, using some creative license, for this card. I thought the center block element would make a great window so I proceeded to create one using Window Die-namics, turned on its side—it makes a perfect double-hung window! I put some clear acetate card stock on the inside and it was good to go! Before doing that, though, I applied some molding paste through English Brick Wall Stencil and after it dried, put the stencil back in place and sponged Fired Brick Distress Ink over it, then positioned the window. For the inside portion, I stamped an image from BB Secret Santa with Extreme Black hybrid ink on No Line Coloring card stock, cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored it with Copic markers and adhered it directly to a panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper sponged with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

I adhered the card front on the base with foam tape, added the branch from B Squirrel! from which I removed the leaves and the cardinal from Reindeer Games Stamp Set and Die-namics for the top element strip. Grassy Fields Die-namics, cut from Gumdrop Green card stock and the heat embossed sentiment, also from Reindeer Games Stamp Set, completed the bottom element strip for the finish!

Merry Kissmas–Color Throwdown Challenge #572

Hello and welcome to a new Color Throwdown Challenge! I’m the hostess this week and I hope to see a lot of you playing along with my colors based on this yummy Christmas confection!





I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to use Mistletoe Cover-Up from MFT’s November Release. To begin, I sponged a panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Salty Ocean Distress Ink and adhered it directly to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Then I cut Mistletoe Cover-Up from more Sweet Tooth card stock and colored it with Copic markers. I popped it up on the base and background with foam tape and added the berries.

Then I added A2 Rectangle Frame Die-namics cut from Gold Sparkle card stock and the sentiment from Snow Globe Greetings, heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips for the finish!
