Halfway to the Big Day—Three Days Until MFT’s July Release!

Hey there and welcome to Day Three of MFT’s July Release Countdown!! Three more days until Release on July 7th at 10am Eastern! Make a note and be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details! Today we’re previewing Best Friends in the Universe Stamp Set, Best Friends in the Universe Die-namics, Blast Off Die-namics, Show Me Your Stripes Stencil, and Window Panes Stencil.

So, as soon as I saw Blast Off Die-namics I KNEW I would do an interactive design! I mean, how cute is this???? It just had to SOAR, right?? So to begin, cut out the rocket and assembled it because I needed to know exactly how big it would be on the card front to judge placement of the slider channel. Once that was assembled, I sponged the background using Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and Broken China, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot Distress Inks. Once dry, I spattered some white craft paint for stars. I cut Stitched Cloud Edges Die-namics from Sweet Tooth card stock for the rocket vapor and used foam tape for dimension and space for movement.

I cut the background with Spin & Slide Channels Die-namics and popped it up with foam tape, creating a channel for Interactive Tabs Die-namics, stamped with Interactive Labels Stamp Set and then assembled the card front elements.

Once the mechanism was assembled and working properly, I added images from Best Friends in the Universe Stamp Set and Die-namics, colored with Copic markers and finished off with some glitter enameled dots.

I love this ice Cream Cone Die-namics!!!! So fun and such a great size! To begin this card I heat embossed Cherry On Top Stamp Set all over and then sponged it with Broken China Distressed ink and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with a strip of Buffalo Brights Paper Pad across the bottom. I stamped the cherry from Cherry on Top Stamp Set on No Line Coloring card stock, colored it with Copic markers, and fussy cut it out. Ice Cream Cone Die-namics was also cut from No Line Coloring Card Stock and colored with Copic markers and both popped up on the card front with foam tape.

I didn’t think it needed much more so I added some glitter enamel dots and called it done!

Five Days Until MFT’s July Release!

I wanted to use several of these images and sentiments, so FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME I made a slimline card, LOL! And I rather like it so expect more of these from me in the future. I’ve always admired them when others make them but never got around to it until now.

I started by stamping the images on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink and coloring them with Copic markers. I framed them with Polaroid Shaker Frame Die-namics cut from three papers in the new Party Plaid Paper Pad and added the sentiment, heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock.

I wanted just a little something for the card base so I sponged Big Balloon Stencil in Beach Bellini, Berrylicious, and Lemon Chiffon dye inks and hand drew the string. I popped the images up on foam on the card base and was done!

To My Main Squeeze–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #496

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

It took me a while to come up with a plan for this sketch but I finally did. I covered a Sweet Tooth card stock base with Tiny Check Paper Pad to begin. Then I cut Gumdrop Green card stock and Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock with A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics, layered them, and popped them up on the card base after sponging the Strathmore with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. Then I stamped Main Squeeze Stamp Set on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics and colored them with Copic markers.

Next I arranged the images and adhered them, placing the leave sprig for the top narrow element. The sentiment was stamped on the patterned paper for the finish.

Thanks a Melon–Color Throwdown Challenge #600

Hey, everyone, it’s time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge! It’s challenge number 600!! What a milestone this is! Can’t believe we’ve been around this long, and we’re committed to keep on keeping on! This week’s hostess is Wanda and she has a refreshing Summertime color palette for us, based on her COOL inspiration piece.





I had to use this PI Sweet Summertime stamp set and Die-namics this week—I mean, it was screaming for it, amirite?? The image was stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored with Copic markers with a little paper piecing going on.  The sentiment was stamped at the bottom of the card front made from Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and stenciled with Shabby Shutters and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks through Oval Extraordinaire and Mini Cloud Edges Stencils.

The card front was matted with Jellybean Green card stock, popped up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base, and finished off with some enamel dots.
