For my card today, I started by creating my background, sponging (top to bottom) Lazy Day, Candied Yam, and Butterscotch dye inks on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper cut with Slimline Starter Die-namics. Once dry, I spattered with clean water and black acrylic ink and cut it with Slimline Stitched Circle Trio Die-namics.

Next I cut In-Focus Floral Frames Die-namics from Ranger Woodgrain card stock and adhered them to the circle openings--you can see the woodgrain in the above photo--that little detail added so much interest in real life! 

Next I stenciled Slimline Mini Cloud Edges Stencil with Lazy Day dye ink on Sweet Tooth card stock and adhered it to the back of the card front panel with foam tape and then to a Sweet Tooth card stock slimline card base.

The sentiment is from Friends Like You Stamp Set and was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with Slimline Skinny Strips Die-namics then popped up on foam tap on the card front. I finished off with some clear dew drops and was done!

If I Were a Cactus, I'd Still Hug You - MFT Color Challenge #165

 

Hi all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here's this week's color combo: Candied Yam, Moroccan Spice, Prickly Pear, and Jalapeño Popper. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

These colors have a Southwestern vibe to me so I immediately thought of cacti, specifically BB Let's Stick Together Stamp Set and Die-namics.

To begin, I stamped the images on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers. 

Next I created the background, sponging Candied Yam and Moroccan Spice dye inks for the top and Kraft dye ink for the ground on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper, then spattering with clean water and black acrylic ink.

Once that was dry I stamped the sentiment, adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then popped the colored images up on foam tape. I finished off with some enamel dots in the challenge colors.

You Color Me Happy - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #541

 

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

Interesting sketch, do you agree? I decided to use those rectangle panels as a background for Happy Rainbows Die-namics and I like it. To begin, I cut two panels of Poppin' Polka Dots Patterned Paper, rounded the inner corners and reinforced them with scrap card stock. 

On a Sweet Tooth card stock panel, I measured and stamped the sentiment from Good Vibes Only Stamp Set with Extreme Black hybrid ink and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base. I cut Happy Rainbows Die-namics from Ranger Watercolor paper and colored them with Peerless Watercolors then adhered the rainbow, also with foam and tying the two "sky" panels together.

Wishing You a Sweet Day - Color Throwdown Challenge #642

 

Hello all, welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! I'm hosting this week and would LOVE to see bunches of you playing along with us this week. It's strawberry season where I live so I couldn't resist this homage to that awesome fruit. 

To begin, I sponged my background on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper using Sour Apple and Cement Gray dye inks and spattered the top with clean water and black acrylic ink.

Next I stamped the sentiment, from Sugar-Coated Sentiments Stamp Set with Extreme Black hybrid ink and adhered the panel to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape. Cupcake and Sprinkles Die-namics was cut from No Line Coloring card stock and colored with Copic markers.

Once it was all dry and assembled, it was popped up on the card front with foam tape and I finished off with some glitter enamel dots.

You Always Take Such Good Care of Me - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #540

 

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

What a fun sketch, right!! It only took me a few minutes to settle on Band-Aids Die-namics to supply most of the horizontal elements for the card and the sentiment strip provided the final one.

To begin, I sponged the background using Broken China and Pumice Stone Distress Inks on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper then popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape.

Next the image from BB Call the Shots stamp set was stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored with Copic markers. 

I cut three copies of Band-Aids Die-namics from Strip Splash Patterned Paper, and cut the hearts from Amarena Cherry card stock then adhered them with foam tape to the card front. The sentiment from the set was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with Fishtail Foundations Die-namics and likewise adhered with foam. The image was popped up on foam and I finished off with a few glitter enamel dots.
