Pink Makes Anything Fabulous–Color Throwdown Challenge #498

CTD498_2018jun20

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Lynn has chosen this gorgeous color combo based on her gorgeous inspiration piece.

swatch498

So I totally went with the inspiration piece theme. I started by stenciling Mini Cloud Edges with Peach Bellini Premium Dye Ink, then added the sentiment stamped with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink. Then I added the foreground elements: Grassy Edges Die-namics, water, and sand, cut with Stitched Snow Drifts (minus the stitching).

CTD498_2018jun20b

Next I added LLD Flamingos Die-namics and a palm tree from Beach Scene Builder Die-namics. I love those flamingos!! I added several neutrals for this design to complement the three pinks and the green of the challenge colors.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the
Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. To begin, I stamped the June Release Moroccan Mosaic Background on Ranger Watercolor Paper and then did a watercolor resist background with Peerless Watercolors, then popped it up on the card base with foam tape.

Next I cut a bunch of Stitched Blooms Die-namics from Daffodil and Kraft card stocks, assembled the flowers, and arranged and adhered them to the card front. Then I cut three copies of Twice the Hugs Die-namics, adhered the layers together and then to the card front. To finish off, I added some Sprinkles in the challenge colors.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

You Rock–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #389

MFTWSC389_2018jun13

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFT_WSC_389
This sketch leaves a lot of room for interpretation, I think. As long as you have the elements there you can do most anything with the rest of the card. And I did ;-) I created a mini scene with Jungle Vibes Stamp Set inspired by the sentiment I chose. I created a watercolor background, added Grassy Edges Die-namics cut from Sour Apple card stock, a sun, a cloud, and the guitar-playing zebra and tree, colored with Copic markers.

MFTWSC389_2018jun13b

I heat embossed the sentiment, from All About You, on Black Licorice card stock cut with Slanted Sentiment Strips Die-namics, and added You Trio Die-namics for the larger element, cut from Silver Sparkle card stock and popped up on foam. Music notes added the three accent elements. This was a really fun card to make!

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Birthday Wishes–Color Throwdown Challenge #497

CTD497_2018jun13

Hello and welcome to another Color Throwdown Challenge! Today Lori has a super sweet color palette for us base on her super sweet inspiration piece.

swatch497

To begin, I did a watercolor wash for my background and stamped a sentiment from Handwritten Happiness with Black Licorice hybrid ink. Next I cut Sweet Tooth card stock with Inside & Out Stitched Oval STAX Die-namics and applied molding paste through Moroccan Lattice Stencil and set it aside to dry.

CTD497_2018jun13b

In the meantime I cut Fab Foliage Die-namics from Sour Apple and Limelight card stocks and made some Mini Rolled Roses from Coral Crush and Lemon Chiffon card stocks. I then added the background to the card front with foam tape and adhered it to the card base. I adhered the foliage and roses with hot glue and finished off with some matching Sprinkles.

Party Like a Flock Star–June 2018 MFT and Friends

mftandfriends_2018jun12

Today our team is taking a fresh look at our most recent release with inspiring ideas and innovative takes on the complete collection. We love the opportunity to look at our products with fresh eyes, envisioning entirely new ways to showcase the possibilities they present. We can’t wait to share our ideas with you!

MFTandFriends

I had not had a chance to use Toucan Do It Stamp Set and Die-namics so I got them out for this card. I wanted to build a little celebratory scene with this rockin’ parrots so I started by stamping them with Extreme Black Hybrid ink, cutting them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers. Look carefully—they have leg warmers on!! Hilarious!!!

mftandfriends_2018jun12b

I added a watercolor background, cut the opening with Stitched Arch STAX Die-namics, and added a new Wonky Banners element. Grassy Edges Die-namics, the palm tree and sun from Beach Scene Builder, and Puffy Clouds competes the scene. I finished off with the sentiment, heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock.

And that’s it for this month’s
MFT and Friends. Be sure to check by the MFT Blog for more inspiration. Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon
