I Bee-lieve in You–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #424

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. I decided to give Meant to Bee Stamp Set and Die-namics a little love for this card so to begin, I created my background by stamping Ranger Watercolor paper with Honeycomb Background and Gravel Gray Hybrid ink in a distressed manner then applied a watercolor wash with Peerless Watercolors and a water brush. When that was dry, I stamped the sentiment with Extreme Black hybrid ink, adhered the Black & White Striped Paper Pack element, and popped it up on the Sweet Tooth card stock base.

Then I stamped the images with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored them with Copic markers, added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to the bees’ wings for a bit of shimmer, and popped them up with foam tape for the finish!

Be Mine–Color Throwdown Challenge #530

Hi everyone and welcome to a new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Wanda is our hostess and she’s challenge up to use a color combo based on her stunning inspiration piece.

I wasn’t going to make any more Valentines but I guess I had to with this inspiration piece ;-) The negative heart reminded me of the Be Mine Banner so I got it out for this card. To begin, I lightly stamped Romantic Script Background on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Cement Gray hybrid ink, then did a watercolor wash with Peerless Watercolors and when it was dry, I stamped the XOXO sentiment from Valentine Wishes with Black Licorice hybrid ink, embossed the stitch line, and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

While the card front was drying, I cut Be Mine Banner Die-namics from Ripe Raspberry card stock and backed the letters with Black Licorice card stock. I popped the banner up on foam tape and finished off with some hearts cut with Tag Builder Blueprints 5.

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. OK, I know I say this sometimes but this sketch REALLY stumped me. I had to let go of the circles before I came up with an idea and ended up with a Spring scene. I started by sponging the background with Blue Breeze dye ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper, then I stamped the sentiments, from Beautiful Blessings Stamp Set across the center. 

Then I added Stitched Valley Die-namics, cut from Sour Apple and Gumdrop Green card stocks. Next I stamped Modern Trees Stamp Set, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and popped them up on foam tape. I finished off with some Puffy Clouds and a sun cut from Lemon Drop card stock with Beach Scene Builder Die-namics.

Make Today Beautiful–Color Throwdown Challenge #529

Hey, everyone! It’s time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Wanda is our hostess and she’s challenging us to a warm color palette based on her gorgeous inspiration piece.

I decided the best way I could use these colors was to do an ombre’ sponged panel and cut it—and some Black Licorice card stock, with Bold Beautiful Die-namics. I sponged on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and then inserted the pieces into the black die cut, taped the entire back, and popped it up on foam tape on a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

Then I heat embossed the sentiment from Hello, Beautiful Stamp Set and popped it up on foam tape as well. To finish off I added some matching enamel dots.

February MFT & Friends

All of our February Release products are available in the MFT Online Boutique NOW! Today our team is taking a fresh look at our most recent release with inspiring ideas and innovative takes on the complete collection. We love the opportunity to look at our products with fresh eyes, envisioning entirely new ways to showcase the possibilities they present. We can’t wait to share our ideas with you so be sure to also stop by the MFT Blog to see who else is participating!

I just love every.single.product in this release! It’s been so much fun playing working with them and I couldn’t stop! Today I have a couple more cards with a couple of products I didn’t get to use over the last five days: Super Dog Stamp Set and Die-namics and Oh, My Gostrich Stamp Set. For my first card, I started by sponging my background, then cut City Block Die-namics from Black Licorice card stock and adhered Lemon Chiffon card stock on the back to simulate lights on at night, then I popped that and the sidewalk up on foam tape.

Then I stamped images from Super Dog Stamp Set, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored them with Copic markers, and popped them up on foam tape. The sentiment was heat embossed on Translucent Vellum and adhered with vellum tape runner.

For my next card I used just the stamp set for a CAS card. I think this could pass muster as a masculine card.

I started by stamping the ostrich image and then the sentiment with Extreme Black hybrid ink on No Line Coloring card stock. Next I added colored it with Copic markers and added the ground detail. To get a smooth background, I taped off the ground and masked the image then airbrushed with a Copic marker.

To finish off, I adhered a piece of Coral Crush card stock to the Sweet Tooth card stock base, tied some baker’s twine around the front panel, and popped it up on foam tape.
