You’re My Favorite Person to Hang out With–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #447

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

While trying to decide what to use on this card, I was looking through my stamps and came across this one that I hadn’t used in a while: Jungle Gym. Right away I saw that the tree limb could easily substitute for the sentiment strip at the top so I got to work. The image was stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored with Copic markers.

I used mini Cloud Edges Stencil and Blue Breeze dye ink for the sky and cut the foreground from Gumdrop Green card stock with Grassy Hills Die-namics. The back layer was adhered directly to the card front and the sentiment was stamped on the front layer and popped up on foam tape.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

You Make a Year Older Look Fabulous–Color Throwdown Challenge #553

Hi all, welcome to another
Color Throwdown Challenge! Today Miss Broni is our hostess and she has some hot colors for us to play with.

I decided to go CAS with today’s card and to that end sponged Big Balloons Stencil with Razzle Berry, Orange Fizz, and Lemon Drop dye inks. Th sentiment is from Sassy Pants Birthday Greetings 2 and was stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink and I used a black Copic Multiliner pen to draw the balloon strings free-hand.

Before I popped the card front up on foam tape on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with a strip of Black & White Strips Paper Pack across the bottom, I tied around some baker’s twine.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the
Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD553 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd553 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our amazing July Guest Designer, Susie Moore!

Let's Toast (With a Twist)--MFT's July Card Kit Release!

It's time! MFT's July Card Kit, Let's Toast (With a Twist) is now available for purchase in the MFT Online Boutique! Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details and more inspiration for YOUR Let's Toast (With a Twist) Card Kit!

For today's card I went with another interactive card. Meet in the Middle Interactive Die-namics are so much fun to use--they might get addictive!! For this card I created a watercolor wash background, splattered some ink, and popped it up on top of the mechanism then cut and colored the wine glass and martini glass and adhered them.

I cut Simply Celebrate from Black Licorice card stock and adhered it to Silver Sparkle card stock then directly to the card front. The sentiment was heat embossed on more Black Licorice card stock cut with Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics then popped up on foam. I finished off with some streamers cut from Silver Sparkle card stock with Balloon Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics.

Here’s a little video clip to show you the action:

And that's it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by--I hope I've given you some ideas for using YOUR Let's Toast (With a Twist) Card Kit! See you soon!

MFT July Card Kit Countdown, Day 2: Let's Toast (With a Twist)

Welcome back to Day Two of MFT's July Card Kit: Let's Toast (With a Twist!). How'd you like all the interactive cards you saw yesterday? Over the top cute, right? Well, there's more today so be sure to check by the MFT Blog for all the details. And set your clocks: Card Kit Release is tomorrow morning at 10 am Eastern--don't be late!

I don't have an interactive card today; I thought I'd see what you could do with just Let's Toast Die-namics and A Toast to You Stamp Set and I like it!

First, I cut a bunch of glasses and colored them simply to mimic different cocktails or drinks. Then I sponged a panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Berrylicious dye ink, stamped the sentiment with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape. Then I arranged the glasses like I wanted, adhered some directly and some with foam tape, and finished off with matching sequins.

And that's it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for Release at 10am, Eastern!
