You Make My Goggles Fog–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #494

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. I hadn’t had a chance to play with Best Fins Stamp Set and Die-namics from MFT’s June Release so I thought I’d create an underwater scene for this card. I giggle every time I read that sentiment so I designed my card around it. To begin, I created the water sponging Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon, and Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks. Once they were dry I stenciled some sunlight using Ray of Light Stencil and white craft paint. Guys, this is a game changer for me. I got so tired of waiting for white pigment ink to dry so I never used it. This dries so fast!! Once it WAS dry, I stamped the schooling fish from BB Friends with Fins Stamp Set with Extreme Black hybrid ink and set it aside.

Next I stamped the images on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics and colored them with Copic markers.

To create the opening, since we don’t have any oval dies now (sniff, sniff) I used Elegant Rectangle STAX. I popped it up on foam on the sponged background and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth cards tock base with some paper from Fun in the Sun Paper Pad. I arranged and adhered the stamped and colored images and moved the sentiment to the top—heat embossed on Poppy card stock cut with Blueprints 27 Die-namics.

Thank You–Color Throwdown Challenge #598

Welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge!! Lynn is our hostess this week and she’s chosen a pastel palette based on her sweet inspiration piece.

I decided to create a CAS card for this challenge using one image from Mother’s Day Bouquet Stamp Set. I heat embossed the image all over a panel of No Line Coloring card stock with fine detail gold embossing powder then colored it with Copic markers in the challenge colors. Once done I matted it with Gold Shine card stock and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape.

Next I cut Thank You Die-namics from Gold Shine card stock and popped it up on the card front for the finish.

You are Amazing–MFT Color Challenge #143

Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Tropical Teal, Cement Gray, Lavender Fields, and Limelight. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.






I went pretty CAS with this card because the colors are all bold and saturated so I didn’t want them to overwhelm the design. I started by stamping Distressed Patterns Stamp Set in three colors on Sweet Tooth card stock, “piped” it with Cement Gray card stock, and adhered on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with a strip of Summertime Polka Dots down the left side.

The sentiment is from All About You Stamp Set and was heat embossed on Tropical Teal card stock cut with Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-namics and popped up on foam tape. All About You Die-namics was cut from Cement Gray card stock and also adhered with foam tape and I finished off with some matching enamel dots.

I started by stenciling Drifts & Hills Stencil with Gumdrop Green dye ink because it was obvious to me ;-) Then I added the clouds using Berrylicious dye ink and Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and the sentiment from Hop, Flip, and a Jump Stamp Set.

I wanted a simple scene that wouldn’t detract from the sketch elements so I stamped the trampoline and lion from Hop, Flip, and a Jump Stamp set on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers. I added the images, along with the sun and clouds using foam tape.

Thinking of You–Color Throwdown Challenge #597

Are you ready for a new Color Throwdown Challenge!! This week Lori is our hostess and she has chosen a jewel-tone laden color palette for us to play with based on her gorgeous inspiration piece!





I didn’t get a chance to use Rectangle Trio Stencil from MFT’s June Release yesterday so I got it out for this card. I sponged Shabby Shutters Distress Ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock, splattered it with clean water, and then some slightly watered-down white craft paint. The sentiment from happy Hummingbirds was stamped at the bottom with Extreme Black hybrid ink and then it was adhered to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape.

I stamped two of the hummingbirds from Happy Hummingbirds Stamp Set with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored them with Copic markers, and popped them up on the stenciled background with foam tape. To finish off I added some glitter enamel dots.
