Hi, everyone, and welcome to the first day of MFT’s October Release Countdown! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around my blog and I can’t wait to show you all the fun products MFT has in store for you this month. Release is on October 14th at 10pm—get all the details at the MFT Blog starting now!
Today we’re previewing LJD Christmas Labels and Tags Die-namics, LJD Christmas Labels and Tags, Stitched Traditional Tag STAX Die-namics, Stitched Oval STAX Die-namics, Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics, and Stitched Square STAX Die-namics. Be still my heart! I’ve been needing those stitched STAX!!
I have a couple of cards for you today, along with a video showing how I did the stenciled embossed and sponged background for the first card, along with the card construction, highlighting LJD Christmas Labels and Tags and LJD Christmas Labels and Tags Die-namics. You can see the video by clicking on the button below or HERE on YouTube.
Here’s a close up of the card elements, including the embossing paste stenciling and the sponging.
This card started with a Kraft Card Stock base. Next, on a piece of Sweet Tooth Card Stock, I spread modeling paste through the new Herringbone Bricks Stencil and allowed it to dry. After it was dry, I replaced the stencil and gently sponged onto the modeling paste with Wild Cherry Ink. I layered that on some silver glitter paper and popped it up on the base. I then cut LJD Christmas Labels and Tags Die-namics from Black Licorice Card Stock and stamped it with the coordinating image from LJD Christmas Labels and Tags and Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I added a Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics, cut from some paper I had in my stash: Sheet Music Background stamped on Sweet Tooth Card Stock with Black Licorice Ink, and popped up the stamped and embossed label on foam. I finished it off with a few glittery enamel dots.
On the inside, I stamped a sentiment using another new set this month, Merry Messages with Black Licorice Ink and Wild Cherry Ink.
*****
For my second card, I’m highlighting Stitched Oval STAX Die-namics. I’m also using Many Thanks Die-namics, which was last month’s Free With $60 set but will be available on it’s own this month.
This card also started with a Kraft Card stock base. Then I cut some Primitive White Card Stock with Stitched Oval STAX Die-namics, stamped a sentiment from last month’s Thankful Thoughts with Chocolate Brown Ink, and layered it up with some gold mirror card stock. I popped that up on foam and also popped up a Many Thanks Die-namics cut from more gold mirror card stock. I added a Leaf-Filled Flourish Die-namics, cut from Gumdrop Green Card Stock, and three Gerbera Daisy Die-namics, made with Lemon Drop Card Stock, Orange Fizz Card Stock, Grape Jelly Card Stock, and Chocolate Brown Card Stock. This card is also for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge.
The sentiment was continued on the inside.
And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!
