Snowflake Sparkle Card Kit, Reveal Day Two

Hello there and welcome to Day Two Reveal for Snowflake Sparkle Card Kit! Today is “out of the box” so I used some products now included in the kit. Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the kit details and more samples from the talented MFT Design Team.

I decided to have some fun with today’s project and made a couple or ornaments and a matching tag. For the tag, I first cut Smooth White card stock with Tag Builders Blueprints 1 Die-namics and used Cornflower Sparkle card stock for the grommet. I stamped three snowflakes with Cornflower dye ink, Tropical Teal dye ink, and Sour Apple dye ink, added some clear bling, and adhered them to the top of the tag. I added Blueprints 12 Die-namics cut from Cornflower card stock and the free dye for the rest of the month, Merry Christmas Die-namics, cut from Silver Sparkle card stock. I finished off with some baker’s twine.



The ornament on the left is dimensional and to more easily demonstrate how I made it, I have a video for you. You can click on the button below of view it in HERE in HD on You Tube.




The other ornament was created by layering four snowflakes stamped with different colors, popped up on foam mounting tape. I added clear gems that I colored with Copic markers to add some sparkle.

Snowflake Sparkle Card Kit, Reveal Day One

Hello, everyone! We have another awesome kit for you this month! Snowflake Sparkle Card Kit is going to be a huge hit! This is Reveal Day One--the kit will be available for purchase tomorrow night, September 20th, at 10pm EDT. Today’s card is “in the box” meaning I used only items that come in the kit except for some basic die shapes and heat embossing supplies.

I did a suspended spinner card for today. This is the first one of these I’ve ever made and it was so much fun I’ll surely be making more. I didn’t film the actual making of the card (I will do that next time) but here’s a short video showing how the mechanism works after it’s constructed. For this card I started with a Smooth White card stock base, cut the circle for the spinner with Circle STAX Set 1 Die-namics. I cut another piece of Smooth White card stock for the card front and cut another circle from it, then heat embossed some snowflakes from Simply Snowflakes stamp set. I stamped the partial sentiment from Snowfall of Blessing stamp set with Cornflower dye ink, stamped the snowflake from Simply Snowflakes with more Cornflower dye ink and constructed the spinner mechanism. Again using Circle STAX Set 1 Die-namics, I cut a frame for the circle from Silver Sparkle card stock and Cornflower Sparkle card stock and the rest of the sentiment was cut with Peaceful Words Die-namics.

I’m Bananas For You–CTD #375 + a Video

Hi, everyone, thanks for joining me for another Color Throwdown Challenge! So, how do you like the new look at the Color Throwdown Blog? We thought we’d freshing it up for the new year :) This week Joan is our hostess and she has some tropical colors for us.


I brought out the recently released Cheeky Monkey and Cheeky Monkey Die-namics for this card. I had this idea during Release Countdown and never got around to it—just as well since it works perfectly for this challenge. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then sponged up an orange sunset sky as a backdrop. I did a little video to show you how I did it and you can find it HERE in HD or click on the button below.



I popped the background up on foam mounting tape and added Grassy Fields Die-namics, cut from Sour Apple card stock, then created my scene. I cut and stamped my banana tree trunk using BB Penguins in Paradise and BB Penguins in Paradise Die-namics using Black Licorice hybrid ink and colored it with Copic markers. I cut both sizes of banana leaves from Wild Greenery Die-namics using Sour Apple card stock and Limelight card stock and arranged them on the background.



Next I stamped the monkey and three copie of the banana bunch from Cheeky Monkey Die-namics using Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 110lb and with Black Licorice hybrid ink, colored with Copic markers, and adhered the elements. The sentiment was stamped on Black Licorice card stock cut with Tag Builder Blueprints 4 Die-namics with Versamark, heat embossed with white detail embossing powder, and popped up on foam.

You’re a Gem + Video—MFT January Release Replay

Hello, and welcome to MFT’s January Release Replay. Today our team is taking a fresh look at our most recent release with inspiring ideas and innovative takes on the complete collection. I didn’t get enough of Bling It On and Diamonds Die-namics so I have another card using them for you today. I have a video showing how I made this card. You can view it HERE in HD or click on the button below to watch.



And here’s a quick rundown for you: I’m using a Grout Gray card stock base, then some Ranger watercolor paper with a wash using Peerless Watercolors and a large Diamonds Die-namics opening cut out, then popped up on foam mounting tape. I cut the next smaller size from watercolor paper, did a wash on it, topped it with the outline die cut from Silver Shine card stock and popped it up, as well, centered in the larger opening.



The sentiment, from Bling It On, was stamped with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock cut with Tag Builders Blueprints 5 Die-namics, heat embossed with white detail embossing powder, and also popped up on foam. I finished off with some clear gems.
