Happy Birthday to You–CTD #335

CTD335_2015mar25

Hi, everyone, it’s time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! Vickie is our host this week and she has picked some soft spring colors to work with.

swatch 335

I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then added a Black Licorice card stock layer on the wonky. I’ve come to like this for grounding rather than a mat under my patterned paper. Next up is some of that patterned paper that I created with Plaid Builder Background and Lemon Chiffon dye ink, Wild Cherry dye ink, and Spearmint dye ink, also placed on the wonky. Next up is a panel I stamped using some little flowers from LJD Spring Backgrounds. I added a black dot to the center of each with a fine point pen to tie it in. Next I cut LJD Circle Scribble Flowers from Wild Cherry card stock and Spearmint card stock and stamped the images from LJD Circle Scribble Flowers with Black Licorice dye ink. There are a couple LJD Scribbles Die-namics cut from Black Licorice card stock under them. The sentiment is from Totally Happy and was stamped on Black Licorice card stock with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder, then popped up on foam mounting tape. I finished off with some enamel dots.

A sentiment from LJD Birthday Greetings was stamped on the inside.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD335 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd335 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented March Guest Designer, Holly Brown, and this week’s Guest Star Stamper, Natasha!
