Hey, there! It’s time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! Tammy has picked a really preppy color combo for us today—a bit different but I ended up loving it!
My theory is that if you’re in doubt, make your own background paper and no color combo will be a challenge, LOL! My card started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then I added a wonky Nightshift Blue card stock panel before popping up my stenciled background on foam mounting tape, also on a wonky angle. My paper was made by using Harlequin Stencil along with Cotton Candy dye ink, Orange Zest dye ink, and a dark blue fine point marker. You can see exactly how I did it if you go to yesterday’s post at the MFT Blog where I have a video showing how to use this stencil for eight different backgrounds.
Next up is a Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics cut from Nightshift Blue card stock stamped with Polka Dot Background and Sweet Tooth pigment ink. Peeking our from under it are three flags cut from Nightshift Blue card stock, Cotton Candy card stock, and Orange Zest card stock with a flag die from Blueprints 12 Die-namics. The focal image is PI Feline Better and her kitty (cut with PI Feline Better Die-namics), stamped on Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 110lb paper with Black Licorice hybrid ink and colored with Copic markers. They were popped up on foam as was the sentiment, stamped on Say What? Die-namics.
A sentiment from Totally Happy was stamped on the inside with Nightshift Blue dye ink.
And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD334 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented March Guest Designer, Holly Brown, and this week’s Guest Star Stamper, Julie Beech!
