Smile–C4C #171

C4C171_2013feb2

Hi, everyone! It’s Saturday and that means Crazy 4 Challenges time! Today, Joanne has a happy challenge for us. Here it is in her words: “February 7th is Wave All Your Fingers at Your Neighbor Day…..a day to show friendliness and good spirits. Let’s make cards that will bring smiles and happiness to the recipients.” Should be easy, right?

I chose to use a sentiment from MFT’s All Smiles for my card today. I stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice Ink on a Kraft Card Stock base first, then built my design around it. A Die-namics Dizzy Doily, some Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX die cuts, a Die-namics Leaf-Filled Flourish, and a Die-namics Sunflower complete the design.

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set:

And that's it! Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you!

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C171.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Just because

I got my new Papertrey goodies and just had to make a card with this gorgeous new color, Hawaiian Shores. I'm also using a new stamp set--Beautiful Blooms II, and new Dark Chocolate Felt. The Hawaiian Shores layer is also embossed with the Tin Type embossing plate but it's not showing up at all in my picture. I cut the felt with the Medium Scallop border die, attached it with Zip Dry adhesive and tied a Hawaiian Shores grosgrain ribbon around. The sentiment is from Mega Mixed Messages. For the flower, I first die cut the shape, then stamped the image on the Hawaiian Shores layer and the Dark Chocolate layer. Then I popped them up on foam squares and added a big ol' Dark Chocolate button to the center. More buttons across the bottom finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by today! I'll have a new Stamp Simply challenge for you tomorrow so I hope you'll drop back by then.

What's up?

I just got some new Fluffles stamps and decided to use one of them for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #28.

My base card is Very Vanilla with three layers of paper from Basic Grey's Archaic 6 x 6 pad. This is a perfect card for my brother (who is never seen without a cup of coffee in his hand) so I didn't want any ribbon on it. But it needed something, so I wrapped some russet colored jute around the bottom and added an antique brass brad to each corner. The second element is also 3 different designs of Archaic paper. The focal image was stamped on Stamper's Select White Cardstock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic markers (see below). It was sponged with Creamy Caramel and matted on two patterns of DP. It also has antique brass brads in three corners and is up on 3M foam squares. The sentiment is from MFT's set called Sassy Sayings and is stamped on Very Vanilla with Memento Rich Cocoa. It's sponged with Creamy Caramel, layered on DP, and is also up on foam squares.

Thanks for dropping in!
