MFT September Just Add Color

justaddcolor_2018sep5

Hey, everyone, it’s time for the September Just Add Color Feature from MFT. I did a coloring guide using the just-released Wildflowers Stamp Set.

MFT_JustAddColor_sidebar

I stamped all the images on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink then cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics before coloring them with Peerless Watercolors and a waterbrush. I’m getting into an Autumn frame of mind so I used Fall colors on my flowers.

I hope this will help you some when you go to color your own Wildflower images. Links listed below.

Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

To the Birthday Girl–MFT July Just Add Color Feature

justaddcolor_2018july11

Hello and welcome to the Just Add Color feature for July from MFT! For this feature we’re sharing our coloring skills using images from the latest release. I’m using Pure Innocence Birthday Cutie for my card today.

MFT_JustAddColor_Blog

I stamped the image on No Line Coloring Card Stock with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and colored it with Copic markers after cutting it out with the coordinating Die-namics. She was so much fun to color!

justaddcolor_2018july11c

I added the image to a card on which I’m also using the new Gift Box Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics. This looks like it’s crooked in the photo but I’ve measured it every which way and it’s straight—I’m thinking the diagonal striped paper is causing an optical illusion. That’s my story…

justaddcolor_2018july11b

The sentiment was heat embossed and popped up on the card front to finish it off. I really love this stamp set and hope I’ve inspired you to Just Add Color to your Birthday Cutie.

Thanks so much for stopping by—see you soon!

Just Add Color: June 2018

justaddcolor_2018jun6

Hello and welcome to the Just Add Color feature for June from MFT! For this feature we’re sharing our coloring skills using images from the latest release. I’m using Pure Innocence Beach Cutie for my card today.

MFT_JustAddColor_Blog

I stamped the image on No Line Coloring Card Stock with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and colored it with Copic markers after cutting it out with the coordinating Die-namics. She was so much fun to color!

justaddcolor_2018jun6c

I wanted the image to be the focal point of the card so I created a simple watercolor background and stamped the sentiment at the bottom. I added a sun cut from Sunshine Card Stock with Beach Scene Builder Die-namics and hand drew in some seagulls with black Copic Multiliner.

I added some whitecaps with Copic Opaque White and that finished it off. I really love this card and hope I’ve inspired you to Just Add Color to your Beach Cutie.

Thanks so much for stopping by—see you soon!

MFT May Release - Just Add Color

justaddcolor_2018may9

Hello everyone and welcome to this month’s edition of MFT’s Just Add Color. Today I’m adding color to PI Love You a Bunch from the May Release.

MFT_JustAddColor_Blog

This little girlie was super fun to color—I gave her a pink dress with rick rack trim and colored her bunch of posies in warm hues.

justaddcolor_2018may9c
For the card itself, I started by stamping Itsy Bitsy Polka Dot Background on Sweet Tooth card stock Extreme Black hybrid ink then sponged over it with Berrylicious dye ink. I masked it off before stamping and sponged the bottom (floor) with Latte dye ink. I popped that up on foam tape on a Sweet Tooth card stock card base with a little Sweet Celebration Patterned Paper to tie it all together.

I popped the little cutie up on foam tape, framed her with Stitched Scallop Oval Frames Die-namics, heat embossed the sentiment on Black Licorice card stock, and finished off with some Sprinkles.

And that’s it! Thanks so much for stopping by today! See you soon!

Congratulations, Lovebirds–April MFT Just Add Color

justaddcolor_2018apr4

Hello everyone, today we’re introducing a new monthly feature. The day after Release we’ll be sharing some coloring with you using New Release Products. This month I’m using A Tweet Hello because I love those little birdies!!

MFT_JustAddColor_Blog

First of all I colored all the images in the set as a stamp guide—I did three “couples” of different breeds of birds and I’m using the bluebirds on this card. I’ll save the others and they’ll be ready for me when I need some birdies in a hurry! I used Copic markers on them and here are the colors:

Bluebirds: B91, 93, 95, 97, E02, 11, 15
Robins: C1, 3, 5, 7, E02, 11, 15
Cardinals: (Male) R20, 22, 24, 27, C3; (Female) E31, 33, 34, R24, C3
Butterfly: YR12, 15, 18, C1, 3
Leaves: YG21, 25
Flowers: YR12, 15, 18, (Yellow) E42, 44, Y13, 18, 35

justaddcolor_2018apr4c

For my card, I started with a stenciled background, using Mini Cloud Edges Stencil, Blue Breeze dye ink, and a sponge dauber on Sweet Tooth card stock, then stamped the sentiment from the set. Next I spread molding paste through English Brick Wall Stencil on Cement Gray card stock and when it dried, went back with Brick Red dye ink to color. I created fence posts from this, adding some plain “caps”. Next I added a strip of Grassy Fields Die-namics cut from Sour Apple card stock, then placed my posts, popped up on foam, then another strip of “grass” in front.

justaddcolor_2018apr4b

Next I cut three copies of Garden Gate from Black Licorice card stock, layered them, and adhered it to the posts and the grass for stability. Finally, I popped up the birds, the butterfly, and the flowers and was done!

I think this is going to be a super fun addition to each Release and I hope you got some ideas for coloring and using YOUR A Tweet Hello Stamp Set.

Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!
