Snowflake Splendor–MFT October Teaser, Day One

Hi, all! Today is the first day of MFT October Teasers! Today we’re previewing Lisa Johnson Designs Snowflake Splendor, Lisa Johnson Designs Snowflake Splendor Die-namics, Blueprints 8 Die-namics, Pure Innocence Trim the Branches Snowman, and Swiss Dots Stencil. I have a couple of cards for you today using LJD Snowflake Splendor and Die-namics LJD Snowflake Splendor. My first one is kinda rustic. I started with a Primitive White card stock base. Then I stamped the snowflake images on Kraft card stock with Whip Cream pigment ink and heat embossed them. I stamped the sentiment with Steel Gray ink, trimmed the panel down, matted it with Wild Cherry card stock and tied around red and black cord before popping it up on foam.

The inside has another sentiment from the set.

For my second card,  I started with a Sno Cone card stock base and added a Sweet Tooth card stock layer that had been partially embossed with another new product this month: Die-namics Swiss Dots.



I stamped part of the sentiment on the bottom of the Sweet Tooth card stock layer, then stamped the rest on a strip of card stock and popped it up on foam. I cut out two of the Die-namics LJD Snowflake Splendor snowflakes and stamped them with their coordinating images using yet another new product this month: Nightshift Blue ink!! Yay! To finish it off, I added a few enamel dots.

The inside of this card also has a sentiment from the set.

Sunflower Friend–CTD #262

Hey, there Color Throwdown fans! It’s time for another challenge and Wanda has knocked this one out of the park! Love these colors based on her awesome inspiration piece!!




’Course, I love anything FALL, so I *would* love it :) I started with a Smoky Slate card base, then stamped my patterned paper on Primitive White card stock using LLD Mod Borders and the challenge colors. I stamped the sentiment, from Inspired by Flowers Set #3, with Steel Gray ink, then tied around some silver cord. I thought the silver would tie in with the gray base and I like how it does.

I created a Die-namics Sunflower and Die-namics Royal leaves, popped it up on foam, and finished off with some enamel dots. I do so love those things!!

I Hope Your Holiday Sparkles–C4C #205

Hi, there, everyone! It’s that craaaaaazy time of the week: Crazy 4 Challenges time! This week the challenge is to use bows on your card or project. Another easy peasy challenge, right?

I decided to make another Christmas card for this challenge. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then stamped a peppermint stripe on some more Sweet Tooth card stock with Wild Cherry ink using Plaid Builder Background. I matted a piece of that with Wild Cherry ink and popped it up on foam, after stamping the sentiment, from a’ la modes Sparkling Season with Steel Gray ink.

Then I cut three Die-namics Dainty Bows from red glitter paper, assembled them and popped them up on foam. To finish it off, I added some clear gems for accent.

Here’s the inside, with another sentiment from the set.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas–MFTWSC #143

Hi, everyone, I’m back again with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.




I think I’ve mentioned that I’m not a fan of square cards and go A2 whenever I can, which is what I did with this sketch. I decided I’d better get a move on with my Christmas cards, too, so that’s what I went with. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base and then added a popped-up-on-foam layer stamped on Sweet Tooth card stock with LJD Textile Backgrounds and Red Hot ink. I added half of a Die-namics High Tea Party Doily die cut, then stamped the sentiment, from Inspired by Christmas, with Steel Gray ink (my new FAVORITE for sentiments!) on a Die-namics Clearly Sentimental Label, also popped up on foam. To finish it off, I did a lot of sponging with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and added the little holly leaf from Die-namics Christmas Ornaments, with some flat backed red pearls for the berries. I think the curvy corners on the sentiment label can serve as the brad elements on the sketch, don’t you?
