Halloween Mixed Media–C4C #206

I’m back with this week’s Crazy 4 Challenges challenge! This week we have a fabulous inspiration piece to use for our projects so be sure to check out the Crazy 4 Challenges blog for all the details.

I decided to do a mixed media piece for my project today. I made a printer’s tray last year to hang on the wall and it was picked up for publication and is still in Utah! I doubt I’ll get it back in time to display this year so this will fill in for it. I started with an 8 x 10 canvas board, applied a layer of gesso and then laid down color with my Gelatos. I stamped some images from MPD Timeless, MPD Distressed Background Blocks, LJD Art Expression Text, Inspired by Caged Bird, and LJD Primitive Pumpkins, added a MPD Concentric Circles “moon” and lots of Die-namics elements: Die-namics Spider Web, Die-namics Flat-Bottom Clouds, Die-namics Cornstalk, Die-namics LJD Primitive Pumpkins, Die-namics Sheltering Tree and Leaf Trio, Die-namics Barbed Wire Fence.

After I had it framed, I added a Die-namics Spider Web in the corner of the frame with the little spider from Die-namics Paper Bag Peek-a-Boos attached.

Peace on Earth–MFT October Teaser, Day Three

Hi, everyone! Back with Day Three Teaser for MFT’s October release! Today we’re previewing Sunny Day Doodles Sweet Christmas, Snow Globe Die-namics, Tree Lines Die-namics, and Pierced Traditional Tag STAX Die-namics. Lots of good stuff this month, as usual, so get all the details at the MFT Blog. Remember release is on October 8th at 10pm.




I have a card using Die-namics Tree Lines today. They are made to PERFECTLY align with Die-namics Snow Drifts for a wonderfully coordinated landscape. I love how they work together flawlessly! I started with a Sno Cone card stock base, then cut my Die-namics Snow Drifts from Sweet Tooth card stock. I then cut my Die-namics Tree Lines with Jellybean Green card stock and the new, dark green Timber Green card stock. I adhered them together, then decided on placement on my card base and trimmed off the excess. I popped up the top layer on foam tape after I tied around some silver cord and a Timber Green button. Before I did all that, though, I stamped the sentiment, from MPD Starry Christmas, with Timber Green ink.

Starry Christmas–MFT October Teaser, Day Two

Hi, all, back again today with Day Two of MFT’s October Teasers. Today we’re previewing Mona Pendleton Designs Starry Christmas, Mona Pendleton Designs Starry Christmas Die-namics, Mona Pendleton Designs Stargaze Stencil, Joy Photo Card Frame Die-namics, and Merry Photo Card Frame Die-namics. For my card today, I started with a Jellybean Green card base. Then I trimmed a layer of Primitive White card stock and made a second layer just a little smaller. On the top layer, I cut out the tree shape from Die-namics MPD Starry Christmas. After carefully measuring, I stamped the tree image using Jellybean Green ink and Wild Cherry ink on the bottom Primitive White card stock layer. I adhered the bottom one to the card base and popped the top on up on foam. I stamped the sentiment on a strip of Primitive White card stock and popped it up on foam, too, then finished it off with some enamel dots.

The inside has another sentiment from the set stamped with Wild Cherry ink.

Hi, everyone, I’m back again with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.



I started this card with a Primitive Cream card stock base. Then I trimmed a Kraft card stock layer and cut out Die-namics Peek-a-Boo Chevrons on the side. I adhere some Jellybean Green card stock on the base so it would show through the chevrons and popped the layer up on foam. Then I cut out a Die-namics Vertical Greetings die cut and stamped it with a sentiment from the coordinating set, DC Vertical Greetings, with Kraft ink and popped that up on foam as well. Next I cut the oak leaf and a couple of acorns from Die-namics LJD Fall Foliage and stamped them with their coordinating images. I used Jellybean Green ink for the leaf and rocked and rolled the edges. The acorns were done with Kraft ink and Hot Fudge ink. I used the rock and roll technique on the leaf, then tied them all together with hemp cord. I adhered that with hot glue and finished off with some enamel dots. Thinking I might need an enamel dot intervention? Nah, I love ‘em too much :)
