What a fun release this is! Every.single.thing! I have a couple of cards for you today using today’s featured products so let’s get started. My first card is using LLD Donuts and Sprinkles Stamp Set and LLD Donuts Die-namics, as the focal element. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then water colored through Polka Dot Stencil on water color paper with all six of the new colors of dye ink: Summer Splash dye ink, Pure Plum dye ink, Daffodil dye ink, Coral Crush dye ink, In the Buff dye ink, and Orange Zest dye ink. I popped that up on foam mounting tape and then added a Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX Die-namics layer cut from Sweet Tooth card stock. You KNOW how much I’m loving these, right? Can’t wait to use them on a banner! But I digress ;-) Next, on another piece of water color paper, I did a wash with Summer Splash dye ink, cut it out with Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX Die-namics wrapped some hemp cord around in a bow and popped it up on foam mounting tape. I cut the donuts from Chocolate Brown card stock and In the Buff card stock and added the icing, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock and stamped the sprinkles with all of the new colors. I arranged and adhered them and added the sentiment, stamped on Chocolate Brown card stock with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder.

On the inside, I added another sentiment from LLD Donuts and Sprinkles, stamped with Chocolate Brown dye ink and Pure Plum dye ink.

For my second card I tried out a new inking technique with Harlequin Stencil and have a video to show you what I did. I think it’s pretty cool!

You can view the video in HD HERE on my YouTube channel, or click on the button below.

Plus, I’ll give you a quick run down of the technique and card. You know how you can ink up the inside of an embossing folder, run it through your die cutting machine and the ink transfers in the design onto your card stock? Well, I wondered if that would work with stencils and gave it a try. Turns out it not only works, it works fabulously!! I inked up my stencil with Summer Splash hybrid ink using a brayer, then ran it through my Vagabond exactly as if I were going to dry emboss my Sweet Tooth card stock. The ink transferred crisp and clean inside the depressed areas. The raised areas are still white and I just LOVE the combination of embossing and inking. I love to sponge and water color through stencils and this just adds another dimension to the mileage you can get out of your stencils. I’m in LOVE with this technique and foresee that you’ll be seeing me use it a lot.

For my card construction, my base is Sweet tooth card stock and after I trimmed down my stenciled panel I matted it with Black Licorice card stock. Once the stenciled element comes out of the die cutting machine, it’s a bit warped, so I added more tape runner when I matted it, and strips of foam tape that adhered it to the card base took out the rest of the warping. I added a LJD Spring Tulips image stamped with Black Licorice hybrid ink on a LJD Spring Tulips Die-namics die cut, colored it with Copic markers and popped it up on foam. The sentiment was stamped on Black Licorice card stock with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder.

Another sentiment from LJD Spring Tulips was stamped on the inside.

And there you have it! I hope you’ll try out my stencil technique with YOUR MFT stencils! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tonight at 10pm for the New Product Release!

Tomorrow night at 10pm is release, but in the meantime, today we’re previewing Stitched Speech Bubble Edges Die-namics (Free With $60) Stitched Rectangle Frames Die-namics, Candy Jars Die-namics, Candy Jar Companions Stamp Set, Polka Dot Background, and Polka Dot Stencil. Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog to get all the details about today’s products.

NewReleaseCountdown_Day2

I have a couple of cards for you today. The first one highlights the incredibly awesome Stitched Speech Bubble Edges Die-namics! It’s the Free With $60 set this month and can’t you just imagine all KINDS of fun ways to use it? I couldn’t decide which one to use for this card so I used them all! I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base. After deciding on a design, I stamped the sentiment, from Keep on Rockin’, at the bottom with Steel Gray dye ink. Then I added my speech bubble layers: Orange Fizz card stock for the bottom, water color for the center, and Razzle Berry card stock for the top. I used Razzle Berry dye ink refill, Lemon Drop dye ink refill, and Orange Fizz dye ink refill and a water brush to color the center layer. The top two are popped up on foam mounting tape, and I finished off by adhering clear gems with my Quickie Glue pen.

On the inside, I stenciled the same colors with Equalizer Stencil and stamped another sentiment and music notes from Keep on Rockin’.

My second card is a little more formal in design.

countdownday2b_2015feb2

This card started with a Steel Gray card stock base. Next I stamped up some Sweet Tooth card stock with Steel Gray dye ink and the new Polka Dot Background. I matted it with gold glitter paper and popped it up on foam mounting tape on the base. Next I cut my Stitched Rectangle Frames Die-namics from gold mirror paper (I’m so glad gold is making a come back!) and popped it up on foam mounting tape on a piece of Translucent Vellum. I cut LJD Spring Tulips from Sweet Tooth card stock, stamped them with the coordinating images with: Green Room dye ink, Orange Zest hybrid ink, Pure Plum hybrid ink, Coral Crush hybrid ink, and Daffodil hybrid ink, then slipped them just inside the frame. I tied around some gold cord, secured with a clear button and adhered the frame assembly to the card. The sentiment was stamped on Steel Gray card stock with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder, then popped up as well.

Another sentiment from LJD Spring Tulips was stamped on the inside with Steel Gray dye ink.
