I’m using Blueprints 26 Die-namics for my card today—and do you see some patterned paper? YES!!!!!!!!!! MFT now has an exclusive line of patterned paper! We’re releasing two packs this month: Dots & Stripes Sorbet Paper Pack and Plaid Patterns Paper Pack! I’m so excited about these new products and I’m having so much fun using them!!

So, back to the card ;-) The patterned paper that I’m using on this card coordinates with Cotton Candy card stock and Ripe Raspberry card stock. I started with a Sweet tooth card stock base then cut some of that delicious paper with the large balloon from Blueprints 26 Die-namics and popped it up on foam mounting tape. I stamped the sentiment—part of one from a new stamp set, Piece of Cake, with Ripe Raspberry dye ink, then added the balloon strings, cut from Primitive White card stock. I cut several copies of the “happy” die from Black Licorice card stock, glued them together with my Quickie Glue Pen, and adhered it to the card. I finished off with some enamel dots. This was a pretty quick card to make once I got the design done—it would be a quick gift set to make in different colors, don’t you think?

And that’s it from me for the MFT July Release Countdown, Day Five! Thanks so much for stopping by—see you soon!

Ahoy–MFTWSC #235

MFTWSC235_2015jul2

Hi, everyone, I’m back again with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Challenge & Inspiration Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I couldn’t resist making a shaker card with this sketch!! Circles speak to me that way, LOL! Well, I don’t need much of an excuse to make a shaker card any time :) I started with a Primitive White card stock base on which I stamped the rope image from Go Overboard with Black Licorice dye ink in a diagonal pattern. Next up is a Kraft card stock panel stamped with the anchor from the set with Versamark, cut out with Blueprints 23 Die-namics and popped up on foam mounting tape. I created my shaker element by cutting silver foil card stock with Stitched Circle Frames Die-namics, backing it with Berrylicious card stock stenciled with Waves Stencil and Berrylicious dye ink. I added a few 6mm sand sequins, closed it up and adhered it to the Kraft panel. The sentiment was stamped on Black Licorice card stock with Versamark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder then adhered to the circle. I cut the anchor with Let’s Get Nautical Die-namics from Grout Gray card stock and distressed it up a bit before adding some cotton yarn “rope” and adding it.

On the inside is another sentiment from Go Overboard.

Hello, Hello, Hello–CTD #349

CTD349_2015jul1

Hello, and welcome to this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge! This week the so very talented Jodi is our host and she’s chosen one of my all time favorite color combos for us to play with!

swatch 349

I chose to keep this card very CAS and let those color pop! To do that I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then added a Sweet Tooth card stock panel, popped up on foam mounting tape, on which to work. With Say What? Die-namics I cut out some Kraft card stock and stamped a sentiment from LJD Sea Life and popped it up on foam mounting tape. I cut Orange Fizz card stock and Blu Raspberry card stock using dies from LLD Smart Phone Die-namics and stamped sentiments on them from LJD Grand Peaceful Wildflowers and LLD Friend Request. All sentiments were stamped with Black Licorice dye ink. I adhered the Blu Raspberry element directly to the card and the Orange Fizz element was also popped up foam. To finish off I added some matching enamel dots. Simple, but I love how it turned out!

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD349 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd349 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented June Guest Designer, Valentyna Komisarenko!
