Yay - It’s Your Day! MFT January Card Kit, Yay for You Countdown Day One

Hey everyone! It’s time for MFT’s January Card Kit! Yay for You Card Kit is really to help you celebrate all the people in your life!!! For my card today, I started by applying a watercolor wash on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Peerless Watercolors then stamped Distressed Patterns with Delicata Gold ink. Next I cut one of the YAY dies from the kit and embossed the stitch line that comes with the banner set. Then I adhered a panel of paper stamped with Happy Birthday Background behind the cut out letters and popped the whole thing up on foam on a Sweet Tooth card stock base.



The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with a die from Hearts in a Row – Vertical Die-namics and popped up on foam. To finish off I added some Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops. Tip: create Nuvo drops ahead of time on a non-stick surface and adhere with glue when dry.

Brand New MFT Challenge—Birthday Project Challenge!

Hi, everyone, welcome to a brand new challenge at MFT! Today we have the very first Birthday Project Challenge! Let’s celebrate the advent of our brand-new challenge by focusing on the word “celebrate.” Incorporate the stamped or die-cut word into your birthday card design and leave no question as to the mood of your greeting! All of the details about the Birthday Project Challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I absolutely love this die! Love the font, love the size, love everything about it! It’s perfect for ushering in this new challenge! I started by dry embossing Star Celebration Stencil on Sweet Tooth card stock, then popped it up on the Sweet Tooth card base with foam tape. Next I added some Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper—addicted to it—and the partial sentiment from Big Birthday Wishes Stamp Set, heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock.



Next I use Copic markers to create my rainbow swatch and cut Celebrate Die-namics from it along with Sweet Tooth card stock twice. I adhered them together for strength and then to the card front. I finished off with a bunch of Silver Sparkle card stock stars cut from Blueprints 13 and Tag Builder Blueprints 5.

January MFT Hits & Highlights–Tic Tac Toe Treats

Show your love this Valentine’s Day with sweet little treats — bags, boxes, and tags are all on the table this month as we’ve challenged our team to Tic Tac Toe their way to perfect tokens of adoration for friends and loved ones. Integrating our line of tic tac toe themed products is such a fun way to add some interactive interest to your projects — from one to a hundred and one, everyone loves a good game.




What a fun challenge! I made some treat bags with a Tic Tac Toe game card and a box of Tic Tacs as the playing pieces. I stamped the game board from X’s and O’s Stamp Set and added a heart to the center, slipped it and the candy into the bag and stapled it shut at the top.



The topper was created by cutting Sweet Tooth card stock with Stitched Tag-Corner Square STAX Die-namics, covering the front half with Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper, and then a smaller Stitched Tag-Corner Square STAX Die-namics cut from Sweet Tooth card stock on which I stamped part of the sentiment. The rest of the sentiment was heat embossed on Wild Cherry and Razzle Berry card stock cut with Blueprints 27 Die-namics, then popped up on foam tape.



To finish, I added some matching card stock hearts, cut with Tag Builder Blueprints Die-namics.

I Love You–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #368

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

Love this sketch!!! As you can see, I subbed Abstract Heart Die-namics for the circle element but otherwise stay true to the sketch. I used Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper to the Sweet Tooth card stock base (Tip: After cutting the stripes to fit the card front, I cut the center out, with a smaller Stitched Mod Rectangle STAX Die-namics, so there was little waste—I have a nice size piece left over.) Next I cut Stitched Mod Rectangle STAX Die-namics from Ranger Watercolor Paper, applied a watercolor wash, and stamped Distressed Patterns with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and popped it up on foam.



I cut Abstract Heart Die-namics three times, once with Silver Sparkle card stock and twice with Sweet Tooth, adhered them together and then to the card front. I heat embossed a sentiment from From the Heart, popped it up on foam, and was done.

Warmest Wishes–Color Throwdown Challenge #476

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge!! This week Miss Vickie is challenging us with a sweet Wintry color combo based on her VERY sweet inspiration piece.




I started with a Blue Breeze card stock base and created a snow storm using watered down Copic Opaque White and a small craft brush. While that was drying, I cut Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics and Single Stitch Line Rounded Rectangle Frames from Sweet Tooth card stock and Deer Love from Kraft card stock with Black Licorice card stock eyes and noses.



I laid out my scene and stamped Modern Trees and the sentiment from Snow Globe Sentiments with Black Licorice dye ink, then built my scene, popped up on foam tape, to finish.
