Congratulations, Lovebirds - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #449

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

While I was fishing around for an idea, I spied this sky background in my stash and decided it would be perfect! It was made by sponging Blue Breeze dye ink on Sweet Tooth card stock using Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and a sponge dauber. Then I drew on the telephone wires with a ruler and a black Copic multiliner pen.

Once I determined this would work I cut Stitched Done STAX Die-namics from more Sweet Tooth card stock, popped it up on foam tape on the sky background, then adhere it all to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. I stamped the images on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored them with Copic markers, and popped them up on the wire with foam tape.

The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with Essential Slanted Sentiment Strips Die-namics and popped up on foam tape. I added some hearts, cut with Tag Builder Blueprints 6 from Red Hot and Razzle Berry card stocks for the finish.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Thanks for All You Do - Color Throwdown Challenge #555

Hello and welcome to a new Color Throwdown Challenge! My girl Jodi is our hostess this week and she has some gorgeous colors for us to work with, based on her gorgeous inspiration piece.

It’s been a while since I used Triangle STAX on a card and I thought they would work really well for this card. I used Party Patterns Paper Pack and
Cotton Candy, Limelight, Wild Wisteria, and Lemon Drop card stocks for my triangles. I arranged them like I wanted then adhered some directly to the Sweet Tooth card stock card front panel and some popped up on foam tape.

The card front was also adhered with foam tape as was Thanks & Hello Die-namics, cut from Gold Sparkle card stock and stacked with two more copies cut from Sweet Tooth card stock. The rest of the sentiment is from Gift Card Greetings and was heat embossed on Translucent Vellum and adhered with clear foam tape.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD555 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd555 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our amazing August Guest Designer, LucieG!

We can’t wait to share our ideas with you so be sure to also stop by the MFT Blog to see who else is participating!

OK, how sweet is this little man doctor??? OMWord! I just can’t! I started this card by stamping the image on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cutting it out with the coordinating Die-namics, and coloring it with Copic markers. Next I created the background but sponging Berrylicious dye ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and grounding it with Copic markers and stamping the sentiment from the set with Extreme Black hybrid ink.

I popped that up on foam on a Sweet Tooth card stock base after adding a strip of Petite Plaids Paper Pack across the bottom, adhered the image on foam tape and finished off with a heart cut from Ripe Raspberry card stock with Tag Builder Blueprints 5 Die-namics.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! Don’t forget that MFT will be giving away TWO $100 vouchers—to have a chance to win one, be sure to comment on each of the posts linked on the MFT Blog by end of the day on Thursday, August 8th. Nurse is Another Word for Hero - MFT August Release Countdown, Day One

Hi everyone and welcome to Day One of MFT’s August Release Countdown! Tomorrow’s the day! Release is at 10am Eastern so set your clocks! Today we’re previewing BB Call the Shots Stamp Set, BB Call the Shots Die-namics, BB Bedside Manner Stamp Set, and BB Bedside Manner Die-namics. Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details and more inspiration from the design team.

As a retired nurse, I squealed when I saw this set! It’s so adorable! I took one of the sentiments and built my design around it. First, I stamped the image on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored it with Copic markers. Then I planned my card design around Impact Alphabet Die-namics spelling the word “NURSE”. I dry embossed a panel of Sweet Tooth card stock with Star Celebration Stencil and popped it up on foam on a Sweet Tooth card base after added a strip of Black & White Stripes Paper Pack across the bottom.

I sponged Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Electric Red dye ink, cut out the letters, and gave them some little accents with a white gel pen. I popped them up on foam, added the heat embossed sentiment strip, and adhered the image, also with foam tape. To finish off I added some stars, cut with Tag Builder Blueprints 6.

And there you have it for Day One and the end of MFT’s August Release Countdown! Tomorrow, at 10am Eastern, all the cool things you’ve been seeing for the last five days will be available for purchase. Thanks for stopping by today! See you tomorrow for the August MFT & Friends feature!
