Hey there, chickadee

I thought I'd take a tiny break from embellished cards and play along with the CAS Fall To sketch for this week, FTL94. As you can tell, this is a very simple layout and a very simple card. I stamped the chick parts from Everyday Button Bits with Orange Zest ink on white paper and added the Lemon Tart button, tied on with twine. Then I cut/embossed and layered it with Lemon Tart and Dark Chocolate using Classic Circle Nestablilities dies. I added Lemon Tart Bitty Box Basics paper and the sentiment and it was done! All supplies are PTI.

That's me--happy for my friend LeAnne, who is Featured Stamper over at SCS today! Congrats, LeAnne--you so deserve it! I finally got my Papertrey Chicks challenge done for this week 'cause I'm running out of time--we get a new one tomorrow! Eek! So, this is the card I chose to CASE. I changed it from a square card to an A2, used buttons instead of punched stars, used lace and vintage seam binding instead of ribbon, and moved the sentiment to the bottom. And, while I used the same stamp set, I used different images for my focal image. I think it's enough different, but still recognizable. Here's the inspiration piece for my Papertrey Chicks challenge (color are to be Kraft, Pure Poppy, and white).



Not much else to explain about this card except I used Kraft for my base with a layer of Pure Poppy, then a layer of some gingham print I got from a craft store. Then I wrapped some lace around and made a fluffy bow with vintage seam binding that I got here. The images, from Vintage Picnic, were stamped on an MFT Perfect Paper Panel (temporarily out of stock) with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic markers, cut out, and popped up. A few buttons, a sentiment from Vintage Picnic Sentiments, and it was done!

Oh, Alice

Today, My Favorite Things is sponsoring the Oh, Alice Challenge. Last month Costumes From Wonderland was released--how perfect, right?! This week's challenge is an inspiration challenge and here's the inspiration piece:

This is my first chance to ink this set up and I am just thrilled with how my card turned out! What a fabulous inspiration this necklace was for me--I got started and couldn't stop, LOL! I stamped Alice on a Perfect Paper Panel (temporarily out of stock) with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored her with Copic markers, then cut her out. The patterned paper is from the At Home 12 x 12 stack by DCWV. See the little clock faces under the flowers? I cut them out of one of the sheets of design paper in the set--how cool is that?! PERFECT for this theme! I added some Prima flowers and some punched out flowers--the text ones are using the new digi paper Take Note and they all have little gold filigree and Dew Drop centers. A gold moire bow and gold punched leaves finish it off. This card was SO much fun to make! Other MFT products I used are Fossil and Hot Fudge card stock.

Happy Saturday! It's gonna' be a hot one today in Southside Virginia--and me without air conditioning. Due to shoddy installation the compressor went out on our less-than-four-year-old heat pump and it'll be Monday at the earliest before it can be replaced. Might have to go shopping this weekend, LOL! OK, whine over ;-)

Today I have a Crazy 4 Challenges card for you. Mercy is our host this week and she has a gorgeous color combo for us:

Yummy, right!? I chose to use a just-released My Favorite Things' set--Pure Innocence Pulling For You (temporarily out of stock). Just LOOK at her!! And that little wagon! It's so sweet it makes my teeth hurt!


I stamped the image on a Perfect Paper Panel (also temporarily out of stock) with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored her with Copic markers--except her little dress, which is paper pieced. I'm using Mercy's sketch for this week for my layout and it's a supah sketch! Patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Kioshi 6 x 6 pad and card stock is Hot Fudge (this is a dark, dark brown and I love it!). I'm also using MFT's new Fresh Cut Grass Die-namics die and this olive-y green felt for the grass. Sweeeeeet! And the button is from the Chocolate Kiss collection. I just love how this card turned out!

Here's the inside. The hearts in the wagon are from the Basket Full 'o Flopsey set--I thought they went along well with the "wagon full of love" thing ;-)
