PTI November Blog Hop Challenge

I just had to play along this month--this inspiration photo is gorgeous and just shouts hospitality to me. As soon as I saw it I knew I could use it to help me with my NEXT year's Open House invitations.

Of course I also immediately thought of my new Door To Door stamp set and die accessories. My plan - since I have a prototype done now :) - is to try to get a few done every month so I won't be stressing over them come next November. I love the black on white with the little pop of color in the wreath. Very simple but elegant, too. And it didn't take *too* long to do, so here's hoping!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stamps: Door To Door (PTI)

Tea For Two

I have another Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen project to show you today and a super quick post. The inspiration for this project was the song 'Tea For Two'.

I'm using PTI's Tea For Two stamp set and their Favor It 2 die. The tea bag box is my own design. The round cookie container is a repurposed Pringles' can :)

Close up of the tote.

Close ups of the outside and inside of the little box.

Closeups of the cookie box and it's top. Love how this little project turned out. If you have any specific questions, let me know!

Butterflies Are Free

Mornin’, y’all! Today I thought I’d share one of the cards I made for the Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen team. My term ended with May’s gallery so now I can start showing some cards. It was a huge honor to be part of that team and I’m so grateful for the opportunity.that I had to stamp along side of some of the best stampers in the world.

The theme for the first month was music—cards and or projects were to be inspired by music in some way. This card was inspired by Elton John’s ‘Butterflies Are Free’.

DDbutterfliesarefree_2010dec14

I’m using PTI’s Butterfly Dreams set for the butterflies and the sentiment. I stamped the butterfly images on Sweet Blush card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut them out, stamped the sentiment, added some sweet pink pearl bling, and attached the butterflies. A popped-up layer of Sweet Blush and True Black card stock give a little dimension to this CAS card. I really love how it turned out—I love the color combo, how the butterflies flowed on the page, and the CAS style.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I’ll be sharing more of my Dirty Dozen cards over the next few months and I hope you’ll enjoy seeing them.

Hope Your Day Is Fabulous - PTI April Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on PTIs April Blog Hop! This month's challenge is to make a masculine card. They're often the hardest to do, but luckily I just got my Alpha Blocks set so I knew what I was going to do.

First of all, I die cut some blocks with the Alpha Block die, then I stamped "dad" with Dark Chocolate Ink. Next, I stamped the sentiment from Signature Greetings at the bottom of some Kraft card stock and did a little paper piercing in the upper right corner. A couple of layers of card stock, some patterned paper from Graphic 45's A Proper Gentleman, some twine, a button, and popped up letters finished it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have fun looking at all the eye candy on the hop!

Get Well Soon - Crazy 4 Challenges #80

Here I am back again with another Crazy 4 Challenges card. This is Silke Ledlow's last week as host for this month and she has another fun sketch for us to wind it up.

We have a sponsor again this week, as well: Sparkle Creations. You can get all the deets at the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.

And here's my card. I kept it pretty CAS, the best way to showcase this fabulous new die from PTI--Turning A New Leaf. It coordinates with the set by the same name, one of my favorite PTI sets, so I was really happy to see this die added to the line up.

Remember those poofy flowers we were all making last year about this time? Before all the flower dies came out? I had a hankering to make another one of them - for old time's sake, LOL! Seriously, I do love them still.

Okey dokey, that's it for me! Sooooo, NOW, be sure to check out the samples by the rest of my crazy girls...er, I mean the Crazy 4 Challenges team ;-)
THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C80.

Thanks so much for dropping in today! I'll be back tomorrow with another fun card so I hope you'll stop by!

Paper: Kraft, Rustic White, Distressed Dots, Ripe Avocado (PTI)

Belated Birthday Wishes - C4C #79

Happy Saturday! Hope you're ready for another fun challenge! Silke Ledlow is our host again today at Crazy 4 Challenges and she's chosen a great color combo for us today.

Pretty, huh? This is the first chance I've had to play with some new PTI stuff--I've had it almost a month, so it's about time, right?

First of all, I stamped Background Basics: Newsprint on a Kraft base with Dark Chocolate ink. Then I added the sentiment from Mat Stack 3 at the very bottom. Next, I stamped a piece of Hibiscus Burst card stock with Background Basics: Tin Types and more Dark Chocolate ink. After I cut the border with a Medium Scallop die, I tied a Hawaiian shores twill bow around.

For the button card (OMGosh, but I LOVE this concept!!)), first I die cut the card from Rustic White card stock, then stamped the two elements with more Dark Chocolate, then sewed the buttons on. Finally, I popped it up on some foam and it was done! I'm loving it!

And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C79.

Wishing You a Happy Birthday - Crazy 4 Challenges #78

[Just a heads up that I've updated my Stamps For Sale page HERE, and I'll be adding more in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for looking!]

It's Crazy 4 Challenges time! Today's challenge is brought to us by the fabulous Silke Ledlow and today she's challenging us to use a tree on our cards or project today in honor of International Earth Day.

I decided to go CAS with this card. I love the primitive look of this tree image from PTI's Through the Trees.

First I rounded the corners of my card base and stamped the sentiment, from the same set. Then I stamped the tree with Ripe Avocado and Dark Chocolate inks and matted it with Ripe Avocado and Hawaiian Shores card stock. Finally, I finished it off with some Hawaiin Shores 1/2" satin ribbon.

And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C78.

Happy Birthday - C4C #75

It's Crazy 4 Challenges day so it must be Saturday, right? ;-) Yep, it is, and today's challenge is brought to us by Angela Wood: to use dies. Um, yeah, I can do that :)

We also have a sponsor today - Paper Pretties Stamps. You can get all the deets at the C4C blog.

I decided to go kinda CAS with this card, but I used several dies.

I stamped an image from PTI's Turning a New Leaf with Versamark on Kraft for my card base. Next, I added a strip of Dark Chocolate, cut with the Medium Scalloped Border die and a Spiral Notebook Page element stamped with the receipt from It's Official. to qualify for PTI's Make-It Monday Challenge, I added a vellum strip with the sentiment from Butterfly Dreams stamped in Dark Chocolate. Finally, I added a felt flower cut with Beautiful Blooms I dies and some paper leaves cut with a die from Leaf Prints. I finished it off with a button and some twine. I'm not sure I like the vellum spanning the Rustic Cream and Dark Chocolate papers - but it is what it is ;-)

And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C75.

Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge

I'm glad to have the chance to enter this month's PTI blog hop. The challenge is to use an un-inked stamp set. Ha! Noooo problem! Lots of choices for that here!

One set that hasn't seen ink is the Outline Alphabet. Another is All About You Additions. I used both of them on this card.

Using MFT's Textile Rectangle Frame Die-namics die and a Petite Oval Nestabilities die I made a frame from red glitter card stock. Then I stamped the sentiment, using the Outlines Alphabet, colored it with Copic markers and framed it. The flourishes are from Mat Stack 1 collection, and the "You" is from All About You Additions. The scalloped border was cut with PTI's Medium Scalloped Border die.

Thanks so much for stopping by! If you got here on your own, be sure to head on over to Nichol's blog to see who else is playing!

Thanks So Much - C4C #70

Mornin' y'all! It's Saturday so it's Crazy 4 Challenges day! Today our challenge is sponsored by Flower Soft. They're giving away a fabulous prize, so be sure to head on over to the C4C blog for all the details.

The challenge for this week is brought to us again by Angela Wood. Angela wants us to make a thank you card. Easy enough, right? Well, apparently not for me, LOL, because I totally spaced on that part when I was making this card and I made it a birthday card first time around. Thankfully, that was easy to remedy: I stamped a thank you sentiment and cut it out with my sweet flag die from Lil' Inker Designs and popped it up on foam. Whew! I actually think I like it better than the original!
The focal images, from PTI's Life set, were inked up with Stampin' Up markers. Then, Flower Soft in Marigold and Peony Pink, which are two of the three new colors, was applied using Flower Soft glue. A matching green striped ribbon, a green mat, and some Dew Drops finish it off. The image layer is popped up on foam tape, as is the sentiment flag. The sentiment is from PTI's Mega Mixed Messages set.

And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C70.

In dreams and in love...C4C #67

Mornin'! Are you ready for another C4C challenge? This is the last one for the year--the DT is taking a couple of weeks off, but we'll be back on January 1st to get your New Year off to a crazy start! Today's challenge is another sketch--this one by the ever-talented Frances Byrne.

I know, I didn't make it a square card ;-) But I followed the sketch :)

I just got this gorgeous Bo Bunny paper called Crush from my BFF and C4C team mate, Tammy Hershberger. She will be stocking it at the store at which she works, Toryfix. If you're in the area, go by and say hello to Tammy--she'd love it!

Love this sentiment from PTI's Heart Prints Sentiments. And I had to match the little birdcages in the patterned paper with a punched out bird. Sweet!

It's a sketch - C4C#66

This week's C4C challenge is a sketch, brought to us by the talented Cindy Haffner. Here's the sketch:

And here's my card. As I may have mentioned a few times, I'm not a big fan of square cards so I made mine A2 size, but otherwise followed the sketch.

Paper is from Crate Paper's Snowy Day and images are PTI. The tree (and matching die) are from Tree Trimming Trio and the sentiment tag was made from an image from Holly Jolly. This is a GREAT sketch--it made this an easy card to make--thanks, Cindy!

Thinking Of You - Stamp Simply #167

It's time for another Stamp Simply challenge. Today Sharon wants us to use some black on our cards. Here it is in her words:

Nov. 26 - ssnotime167 - Black Friday -- Well, I guess that's what they call today. Yes, here in the US it is the day after Thanksgiving when the Christmas shopping season steps into full gear and all retailers hope to get their books from the red into the black!  So taking our inspiration from that -- today we will use Black in our creations.  Use black as one of your feature colors or merely as an accent, use a black ribbon or other embellishment -- whatever works for you.  I love black accents on cards and can't wait to see what you'll create!

So, think I went a little overboard? Sharon said black accents, but this card is mostly black! But it *is* stamped simply!!

I was thinking I needed a sympathy card for my stash so that's the direction in which I was going with this. I think it could be simply a "Thinking of you" card, too, especially for a male recipient. Anyway, I'm using some K & Company paper called Black and Ivory. I stamped this image from PTI's Through the Trees on Very Vanilla card stock and matted it with Basic Black. I used a rhinestone flourish under that, and a sweet sentiment flag using Lil' Inker's flag die and a sentiment from Through the Trees.

So, now it's your turn. Come along and play and take us up on the challenge--we'd love to see what you come up with. If you do, be sure to leave the link to your project on Sharon's blog using Mr. Linky. Please use the keyword ssnotime167 if you upload to a public forum. Don't forget to check out Sharon's fabulous sample and those of the design team, including our Guest Designer for November, Claudia Rosa of Pretty Pressings.

Holiday Wishes - C4C #64

Happy Saturday! It's Crazy 4 Challenges day!! Today Cindy Haffner is our host again and she's challenging us to use circles on our cards or projects. Easy peasy, right?

This week's challenge is a prize challenge. Our sponsor for this week is Wink Wink Ink, one lucky person will randomly be chose from all the participants and will win $15 of digital stamps from the Wink Wink Ink store.

I guess I'm channeling my inner Silke Ledlow again today :) I love Silke's use of white and I wanted this card to be CAS, so it's got a lot of white. I'm using PTI's Tiny Treats: Christmas and 2010 Christmas Tags sets.

Not much to say about this card. I stamped the Mat Stack image, die cut it, and popped it up on some Pure Poppy saddle stitch ribbon, then I stamped the snowflake, punched it out with a 1 3/4" punch and added a Pure Poppy mat before popping it up on top of the Mat Stack image. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment and added some of Silke's signature silver flat backed pearls as accents, and the whole thing is popped up on the base card on foam tape.

Here's the inside using a sentiment from Inside and Out: Christmas.

And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C64.

Sweet Treat - Color Throwdown #118

Are you ready for another Color Throwdown? Broni is hosting this week and she's chosen some sweet colors:

YUM! Cherry Cobbler. I love it and I love this color! I'm also a fan of Soft Suede and of course, Kraft, so these colors were just fine with me :)

I decided it was high time I use this PTI Favor It 2 die and the Tiny Treats: Christmas set to see what kind of little treat giftie I could whip up. The box was cut from Cherry Cobbler, of course, and I stamped the Mat Stack image on Kraft with Soft Suede ink and cut it out. Using Memento Rich Cocoa I stamped the little bird image and colored it with Copic markers then stamped the sentiment with Cherry Cobbler ink. I couldn't leave it alone there--had to add some buttons ;-) I found a couple in my Scarlet Jewel jar that matches Cherry Cobbler to a "T". I used Pure Poppy baker's twine and colored the white with a Copic marker to cover up the stark white. And, I also just had to add a little green ;-) Easy peasy, that's for sure. I put a little acetate bag of candy in and tied it shut with some Kraft ribbon from SU!.

Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD118 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week.
