Happy Birthday…Sorry for the Late Delivery–MFTWSC #213

Hi, everyone, I’m back again with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. My card started with a Steel Gray card stock base on which I stamped On the Diagonal with Steel Gray dye ink—love the subtle look that gives. Following the sketch, next up is a Sweet Tooth card stock panel stamped with Happy Birthday Background and Steel Gray dye ink, next panel up is Paver Red stamped with Star Background and Paver Red dye ink. Popped up on foam mounting tape is another Sweet Tooth card stock panel, this one dry embossed with MPD Houndstooth Stencil. The sentiment, from You’ve Got Mail, was stamped on Steel Gray card stock with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder before also being popped up on foam mounting tape. I added a Paver Red button, tied with hemp cord, which was also adhered to the Balloon STAX Die-namics. They were made as follows, left to right: Steel Gray card stock stamped with Typewriter Text Background and Steel Gray dye ink; Paver Red card stock; Sweet Tooth card stock stamped with Sheet Music Background with Black Licorice dye ink. I finished off with some enamel dots.

Another sentiment from You’ve Got Mail was stamped on the inside with Paver Red dye ink.

Hi, everyone, this is the last Crazy 4 Challenges of 2014. We’re taking the rest of the year off and will be back to challenge you again starting on January 3rd! Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and very Happy New Year!

For the last challenge of the year, Heather asks us to make a winter birthday card and I am shamelessly CASEing a Debbie Hughes design. For my card, I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then stamped up some Nightshift Blue card stock with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and Snowfall Background. Next I cut LLD Insert It – Instaframe Die-namics from Sweet Tooth card stock, popped it up on foam, added some silver thread, Let It Snowflake Die-namics, and silver sequins. The sentiment, from LJD Snowflake Splendor, was stamped on a Stitched Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics with Nightshift Blue dye ink and also popped up on foam.

The winter birthday sentiment was stamped on the inside with Nightshift Blue dye ink.

Belated Birthday–C4C #252

Hey, everyone, it’s Crazy 4 Challenges time! This month Danielle is our host and today she is challenging us to make a [belated] birthday card.

I started with a Sweet Tooth Card Stock base, then stamped up some patterned paper. Using LLD Border It – Mod Borders, I stamped a rainbow design with, from top to bottom, Lemon Drop Ink, Orange Fizz Ink, Red Hot Ink, Grapesicle Ink, Blu Raspberry Ink, and Sour Apple Ink. I left a small gap in between each color, then went back and hand drew in some random lines with a black pen. I added a strip of this to the left side of my card base, then a strip of Black Licorice Card Stock before adding a Sweet Tooth Card Stock panel that I dry embossed with Starry Night Stencil, popped up on foam. I stamped up another patterned paper using the same color inks and Confetti Background. I cut a balloon from Balloon STAX Die-namics, one from Blu Raspberry Card Stock stamped with Steel Gray Ink and Grid Background and another with Happy Birthday Background stamped with Steel Gray Ink on Sweet Tooth Card Stock. All three balloons were popped up on foam and had black hemp attached and tied together. The sentiment was stamped on more Sweet Tooth Card Stock with Steel Gray Ink and also popped up on foam.

On the inside is a sentiment from Birthday Sentiments.
