Sending You My Love–Catered Crop Recipe Swap

hearts_2014feb4

Hey, everyone! The latest Catered Crop Recipe Swap went live a couple of days ago and this one is all heart—Heart of the Matter, that is! Without hearts and Valentines and all things Love-ly, February would just be another cold month between Christmas and Spring. So, for our first February challenge, Catered Crop wants to give you every opportunity to share you heart. Just use a heart somewhere in your project and join the party. If you need some inspiration, check out the Heart of the Matter Pinterest Gallery.

If you *do* check out that gallery, you will immediately see I was totally inspired by one of the pins :) For my card, I started with a Steel Gray card stock base. Then I stamped Sheet Music Background on Sweet Tooth card stock with Steel Gray ink and got busy stamping hearts. First I made a template by cutting out a Heart STAX Die-namics die and used the negative for my “stencil”. I taped the “stencil” on my Sheet Music Background panel with removable tape, then inked up the little heart from PI Will You Be Mine? with four red inks, in turn: Red Hot ink, Wild Cherry ink, Electric Red ink, and Paver Red ink and filled in that heart with them. When I removed the “stencil” I stamped three hearts that were flying away :) I layered it with some Wild Cherry card stock and popped it up on the base with foam tape.

The sentiment is from the same set and was stamped on a strip of Steel Gray card stock with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder before being popped up on foam, as well.

The inside has another couple of images from the set.

Hugs & Kisses–MFT January Release Countdown, Day Three

countdown3_2014jan5

Hi, all! It’s Day Three of MFT’s January Release Countdown! Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for all the details—and remember release is January 7th at 10 pm—you won’t want to miss it :)

NewReleaseCountdown_Day3

Today’s card uses some adorable new mini doilies—Mini Delicate Doilies Die-namics, and they are this month’s Free With $60 set. That’s right, this month it’s a set of Die-namics! How awesome is that?!

I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then embossed another piece of Sweet Tooth card stock with this month’s Hugs and Kisses Cover-Up Die-namics and popped that up on foam. Next I rounded the corners of another piece of Sweet Tooth card stock and adhered three of the doilies to it, cut from Wild Cherry card stock, Bubblegum card stock, and Razzle Berry card stock. I popped that up on foam too, then stamped the sentiment, from MPD Distressed Hearts on a strip of Razzle Berry card stock with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. After that was done I popped it up on foam to finish it off.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment from MPD Distressed Hearts with Razzle Berry ink.

Guess Who Loves You?–C4C #217

C4C217_2014jan4

Hi, everyone! It’s time for the very first Crazy 4 Challenges of 2014! This month’s host is the amazing Sarah, and today she has an inspiration challenge for us. You can find the photo on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog, along with the details.

You might look at my card and wonder what the connection is, LOL! Well, I was inspired by the banner so I added a new banner die from MFT being released this month, called Dimensional Banners Die-namics.

I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then created some patterned paper. The top was made with Plaid Builder Background and Cotton Candy ink, Steel Gray ink, and two other new products this month, Grout Gray ink and Spearmint ink. The bottom was made with a new red rubber background, Patterned Triangles Background stamped on Grout Gray card stock with Spearmint ink. The little PI is also new this month and is called PI Guess Who Loves You? She’s stamped on X-Press It Blending card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copic markers, fussy cut out, and popped up on foam. The sentiment was stamped on a Dimensional Banners Die-namics and also popped up. I finished off with some enamel dots.

On the inside is another sentiment from the set.

We are so sorry to have to say that one of the founding members of the team, Silke Ledlow, has stepped down to devote more time to family. We will miss her and wish her much happiness! On the other hand, we are also welcoming two new team members today! Helen Cryer and Heather Pulvirenti! Please help us welcome these two new team members!

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C217.

There’s a New Challenge in Town–Introducing MFT Color Palette Challenge!!

MFTCPC1_2014jan2

Hi, everyone! I’m back with a brand new challenge from MFT! Today is the very first Color Palette Challenge and we are so excited about it! This new challenge will be posted on the first Thursday of each month, at noon EST. Players will have until the Wednesday before the next challenge to link their cards to the MFT Blog. One winner will be randomly selected from all the entries and will receive an MFT Voucher. See the MFT Blog today for all the details. Fun, fun!!!

CPC-Jan2014

To kick off this new challenge, we are going with the traditional MFT colors: pink, black, and white. For my card, I started with a Bubblegum card stock base, then embossed a piece of Sweet Tooth card stock with MPD Petal Circles stencil. I love how you can use stencils for more than stenciling! Then I matted it with Black Licorice card stock and popped it up on foam. I then added a couple of glitter paper strips, in black and silver, and a Heart STAX Die-namics cut from Bubblegum card stock. I cut the “U” from By the Letters Uppercase Die-namics out of silver glitter paper and popped it up on foam on the heart, then cut “love” from the soon-to-be-released Lots of Love Die-namics, using Black Licorice card stock and popped it up, as well. To finish it off, I added a few clear gems.

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from MPD Distressed Hearts with Black Licorice ink.

And that’s all from me today! We hope to see lots of you playing our new challenge!!
