Butterfly Wishes–SSSC #208

Hi, everyone! I’m back with today’s Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! I love this scrappy sketch and had so much fun with it!




I started with a Kraft card stock base, then added a strip of Berrylicious card stock stamped with an image from DC Large Scale Backgrounds and Sweet Tooth pigment ink. The smaller strip is Black Licorice card stock. Then I cut out a Precious Polaroids Die-namics from Sweet Tooth card stock and inserted a background made with Watercolor Backgrounds and Berrylicious refill, Kraft refill, and Lemon Drop refill. On that I stamped the sentiment, from MPD Winged Beauties, with Black Licorice ink. I stamped a butterfly from the set on Lemon Drop card stock, also with Black Licorice ink and popped it up on foam with some black hemp cord underneath it. Some enamel dots finish it off.

On the inside is another sentiment from MPD Winged Beauties.

You Rocked It–C4C #224

Hello there! Happy Saturday! Saturdays mean Crazy 4 Challenges and this week Kristine is challenging us to get inspired by music. Today’s project can be inspired by a song, an artist, an instrument, music notes, whatever “music inspiration” means to you.

I was inspired by a piece of patterned paper I had in my stash that I’d stamped with Sheet Music Background. I decided to keep most to the card neutral and add pops of color so I started off with a Primitive White card stock base. Then I embossed a piece of Kraft Core card stock with Stripes Stencil and distressed it so the stripes would show. I matted this with Kraft card stock and popped it up on the base, then adhered the music paper on an angle. Then I added some elements from LLD Accent It – Rock and Roll Die-namics – the star was cut from Red Hot card stock, the guitar from Kraft card stock with a Black Licorice card stock accent, and Tangy Orange card stock and Orange Fizz card stock make up the flames. Before I popped up the guitar on foam, I added some loops of hemp cord. The sentiment, from LLD Document It – rock On, was stamped with Black Licorice ink on Primitive White card stock cut with Dimensional Banners Die-namics, and popped up on foam. To finish it off, I added some enamel dots.

The inside has a sentiment from Simply Fabulous Sayings with Black Licorice ink and Red Hot ink.

SCS Lovefest and MFT!

Hi, everyone! Have you heard about the Second Annual LOVEFEST over at Splitcoast Stampers? The member companies are hosting challenges with great prizes and today is MFT’s challenge day. Get all the details right HERE at SCS.

For my card, I started with a Kraft card stock base, then stamped up some patterned paper on Primitive White card stock with Black Licorice ink using Striped Backgrounds stamp set. I cut a diagonal panel from this and popped it up on foam. Then, on a Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics die cut, I stamped a sentiment from LJD Cheerful Blessings on Primitive White card stock with Black Licorice ink and Wild Cherry ink. I popped that up on foam, too, then added a heart, cut from Wild Cherry card stock using Hearts a Plenty Die-namics. To finish it off, I tied some hemp cord on a Black Licorice button and adhered it to the heart.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment from LJD Cheerful Blessings.
