You’re a Star–MFT September Hits & Highlights

We’re giving our team some leeway this month and we’re confident they’re going to blow our minds with creative spins on this month's Hits & Highlights challenge. Today, check out how they’ve reached for the stars creating around the idea *of* stars. Click through to see how they’ve interpreted the idea…you might find colorful galactic scenes, you might find brilliant performers belting it out on a brilliantly lit stage, you might find a simple graphic shaker design featuring one of our star shaker pouches. There are so many possibilities this month and we’re excited for you to see them all!




How about a rainbow of stars? Hard to beat that combo, amirite? So, I started by dry embossing some Sweet Tooth card stock with Star Celebration Stencil and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape. Then I cut a bunch of stars with Inside & Out Stitched Stars Die-namics from a rainbow selection of card stock: Wild Cherry, Orange Zest, Lemon Drop, Sour Apple, Blu Raspberry, Blue Breeze, Grape Jelly, and Razzle Berry. I arranged them how I wanted them and adhered them with foam tape—some one layer and some two for added dimension.



Once I had them all adhered, I cut Shining Stars Die-namics from Silver Sparkle card stock and heat embossed the sentiment from Written in the Stars Stamp Set on Heavyweight Vellum. I adhered the vellum strip to the “Stars” die cut and adhered the die cut to the card front with foam tape—thus not needing to add any adhesive to the vellum.

Just Sitting Here Thinking of You–MFT Color Challenge #101

Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Tropical Teal, Summer Splash, Coral Crush, and Wild Cherry. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I created a little arctic scene using CC Polar Pals for my card. I sponged the sky with Coral Crush and Summer Splash dye inks, stamped the sentiment, and popped it up on foam on a card base. Then I added some snow drifts, cut with, well, Snow Drifts Die-namics, added Tropical Teal sponged water, and BB Icebergs Die-namics.



The sweet bear was colored with Copic markers and added to the scene. Some hearts, cut from Wild Cherry card stock with Tag Builder Blueprints Die-namics and added above the bear. Dimension was achieved with foam tape.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge—I Miss Your Hugs

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I used this sketch to create a little framed scene using Friendly Raccoons Stamp Set from the recent Release. First I stamp some Kraft card stock with Whimsical Woodgrain Background and Kraft dye ink, then cut it with A2 Rectangle STAX Set 2 and cut the center out with Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX.



I added a watercolored sky and Grassy Hills Die-namics cut from Jellybean Green card stock for the background with the “frame” popped up on foam tape, then I stamped the images on No-Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored them with Copic markers, and popped them up in the scene with foam tape. The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock and I finished of with a couple of Puffy Clouds cut from Sweet Tooth card stock.

Color Throwdown Challenge #510–Wishing You a Harvest of Blessings

Hey there, it’s time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Wanda is our hostess and she’s chosen some Fall colors based on her gorgeous inspiration piece.




I’m using BB Harvest Mouse Stamp Set for this card. I started by adding a strip of patterned paper to the bottom of a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then sponged the “grass” on another piece of Sweet Tooth card stock and trimmed it off.



I stamped the images, doing a little masking, on No Line Coloring Card Stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, and colored the images with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment, tied around some baker’s twine, popped it up on foam on the card base and was DONE!

Miss You–September MFT and Friends

Today our team is taking a fresh look at our most recent release with inspiring ideas and innovative takes on the complete collection. We love the opportunity to look at our products with fresh eyes, envisioning entirely new ways to showcase the possibilities they present. We can’t wait to share our ideas with you!




Today’s card is using some images from Wildflowers Stamp Set and Die-namics that I watercolored and the die cut sentiment, Miss You. First I cut some Sweet Tooth card stock with Mod Rectangle STAX and sponged Steel Gray dye ink through English Brick Wall Stencil for my background. I popped that up on foam tape on a Sweet Tooth card stock base and then added Miss You Die-namics, which was cut three times from Black Licorice card stock, stacked, and adhered to the card front.



Next I clustered a few images from Wildflowers, tied them together with hemp cord, and adhered them to the card front with foam tape. The only thing left to do was to add some coordinating Sprinkles and call it good!
