Easter Wishes from Doodlebug Design

Hi all, I’m back today with more projects using
Doodlebug Design Hoppy Easter Doodle Stamps and Doodle Cuts. Gosh, I had so much fun making them!

First up, look at this cutie patootie bunny hugging his carrot!! To begin this card I stamped a row of carrots down the side of a white card stock base with Copic-friendly ink and colored them with Copic markers. Next I stamped up the images the same way, cut them out with the coordinating dies, and colored them as well. Then on another panel of white card stock, I sponged the background ink and stamped the sentiment. Then I popped it up on the card base with a strip of Beetle Black Dot-Stripe Petite Prints cardstock. To finish I popped up the colored images and some clouds to finish the scene.

My second card required a bit of masking and I’m so tickled with how it turned out because I LOVE these little jelly beans!! I stamped them, masking as I went, with Copic-friendly ink until I had a pile that I liked along with a few still falling. I colored them with Copics in Doodlebug colors, gave them some grounding, and adhered the panel on foam tape on the card base, which was covered with paper from the Hoppy Easter 6 x 6 paper pad. The sentiment was heat embossed on black card stock and arranged to mimic the falling jelly beans. Fun!

Lastly, I have a couple of tags. Wouldn’t these be awesome on a kid’s Easter basket? I created mini scenes on them using Hoppy Easter Washi tape, 6 x 6 paper pad, and of course images from Hoppy Easter Doodle Stamps and Doodle Cuts. The images were all colored with Copic markers and adhered either directly or on foam tape for dimension. Some ribbon and Doodle Twine finish the top off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you've gotten a few ideas for using YOUR Hoppy Easter Doodle Stamps and Doodle Cuts!

Sip, Sip, Hooray!–MFT April Birthday Project Challenge

Hello and welcome to the April edition of
MFT’s Birthday Project Challenge! This month it’s time to celebrate another trip around the sun with a favorite beverage…coffee or tea for a birthday brunch or maybe cocktails or wine for a night on the town! For this month’s challenge, check out the inspiration on the MFT Blog and then create a birthday card that includes the drink of your choice. Cheers to another year!

My design was inspired by Sip Sip Hooray Die-namics, which I’d never gotten around to using so I thought it was high time! And what fun I had with it! First I cut it from Some Sweet Tooth card stock and created a shaker element using clear acetate for the window, foam tape, and sequins and seed beads. Before I put it together, though, I stamped some “droplets” using Distressed Patterns and Aged Mahogany Distress Ink and part of two sentiment from Uncorked Stamp Set at the bottom.

Then I cut the two wine glasses from Wine Service Die-namics, colored them with Copic markers, and popped them up on foam tape. To finish off, I cut some Silver Sparkle card stock with Tag Builder Blueprints 6 Die-namics and adhered them to look like bubbles floated out of the glasses.

Now, it's your turn. You have until Wednesday, May 15, at noon Eastern to add your link on the MFT Blog and be eligible for the prize of $50 in MFT Cash to be spent in the MFT boutique. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

Hello, Beautiful–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #433

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I’m really crushing on this sketch—I love oval elements to begin with, there’s a large area to create in, then two sentiment opportunities—what’s not to love, right? So, first I cut my oval out of Sweet Tooth card stock and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with a watercolor wash background sandwiched in between. I added some Grand Greenery Die-namics and a butterfly from Fluttering Friends Stamp Set and coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers.

Finally, I cut Beautiful Die-namics from Silver Sparkle card stock and adhered it with liquid glue, then finished off with some enamel dots.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

You Are My Happy Place–Color Throwdown Challenge #539

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Vickie is our hostess this week and she’s chosen some gorgeous colors based on her inspiration piece.

When I saw these colors I immediately thought of a tropical sunset/moonrise so that’s where I went. First I sponged the background with Blueberry, Lemon Drop, and Orange Zest Premium Dye Inks on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and adhered it to the Sweet Tooth card stock base. Next I cut some elements from Beach Scene Builder Die-namics, heat embossed the sentiment from Beach Bunnies Stamp Set, and put it all together.

I added some Copic Opaque White for the moon’s glow on  the water, popped up the palm trees on foam tape, and it was done!

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the
Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD539 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd539 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, along with our super talented Guest Designer, Lee Ann Barrett!

I Need to Sea You Soon–MFT Color Challenge #115

Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Grout Gray, Peach Bellini, Blue Breeze, and Cornflower. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

This card was so much fun! I started by sponging Peach Bellini dye ink on some Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Next I cut more of the same paper with Ocean Waves Die-namics and sponged them first with Blue Breeze dye ink then at the bottom with Cornflower dye ink and blending it up. I stamped the sentiment from BB Mermazing Stamp Set on the outer layer and adhered them all—the top two with foam tape.

Next I stamped, cut, and colored a bunch of fishes from BB Otterly Love you Stamp Set and either adhered them directly or popped them up on foam tape. To finish off, I cut some Puffy Clouds Die-namics from Grout Gray card stock and sponged the bottom edges with Peach Bellini dye ink.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!
