Make it a Banner Year–MFT December DT Creative Challenge

CCNYbanner_2013dec17

The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, Make it a Banner Year!  Look forward to an assortment of creations from today's participating designers as we explore creative ways to use our MFT products for home decor.  Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all the designers who have a project to share with you today.

If you’ve been to my blog much, you’ll already know that this challenge was right up my alley! I LOVE to make banners and MFT makes it so easy with the fabulous collection of Die-namics dies. I decided to make a banner to ring in the New Year.

Each pennant is essentially the same, starting with three kinds of glitter paper and three sizes of Jumbo Banner Day STAX Die-namics. I then added a Dizzy Doily Duo Die-namics doily, then cut 1/4” Rosette Die-namics with really thin glitter paper and assembled it with a Circle STAX Die-namics on top. For the header, I used Simply Scallops Medium Die-namics, attached with foam tape. After that, it was just a matter of cutting my High-Rise Number Die-namics, the cocktail glass charms from Let’s Toast Die-namics, and Stacking Stars Die-namics, along with a few of the very smallest Star STAX Die-namics. I adhered them with hot glue and foam tape.

Here’s the “0” pennant…

…and the “4”.

Between each pennant and at either end, I cut a pennant from Mix & Match Banners Die-namics and added a star from Stacking Stars Die-namics and a Black Licorice button tied with silver cord.

After all of the elements were created, I attached the together with a silky cord and hot glue.

And there you have it! A toast to 2014!! Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for the other designers participating in today’s post.
