MFT September Creative Construction With Blueprints—Out of the Box

ccwithBP_2016sep27

Squares and rectangles are pleasing to the eye and lend an orderly feel to your cards but unexpected shapes add energy and excitement! From angled panels and wonky shapes to curves, waves, and special forms – Blueprints provides the perfect solution to any design dilemma. Check out how our designers featured these unique elements in this month’s Creative Construction with Blueprints challenge.

There are so many different shapes represented in our selection of Blueprints but I’m partial to the angled panels that are so easy to achieve with Blueprints 18 Die-namics. I’m using Sweet Tooth card stock and Translucent Vellum for my card today. I applied molding paste through Scattered Bars Stencil to the top angled panel and popped it up on the base with foam mounting tape. The sentiment, from Bling It On, was stamped with Cement Gray dye ink since I wanted it to be on the light side to match the hue of the flowers.

The flowers were created using Pretty Posies and Pretty Posies Die-namics, stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. I colored the back of the flowers with Copic markers—love the subtle color you get with this technique. They were attached with foam mounting tape and hot glue and I finished off with some Sparkling Clear Mix sequins.

And that’s it for this edition of
MFT Creative Construction with Blueprints. Thanks so much for stopping by—see you soon!
