MFT December Creative Challenge - Ten Minute Treats + a Video

Hi, everyone, thanks for joining me for MFT’s December Creative Challenge – Ten Minute Treats! We’ve all been there…running out the door to a party or event and realizing, eek!, that we need a last-minute gift. Whether it’s for a teacher, party host, or gift exchange with friends, it’s incredibly helpful to have a store of quick gift options stashed away in your repertoire. Join us this month as our team shares some of their ideas for crafting 10 minute treats your recipient will love.

OK, I’ll admit this took a bit longer than 10 minutes. I started off with something quick in mind but it took on a life of it’s own and it grew! That’s my story…

I created a holder for a package of hot cocoa mix—which *is* a quick treat to USE but the container took a tiny bit longer to produce. I didn’t like the look of just adhering the card front to the card base as a pocket because it wasn’t going to be nice and flat once the packet was inserted so I created a holder to eliminate that problem. A Jolly Hello, Cleverly Disguising a Gift Card Holder

Hi, everyone, are you all ready for Christmas? I think I’m all done with shopping, this was my last gift to buy—and “wrap”. Since it’s a gift card for the kid next door, I thought I’d make a special holder for it.

I started with a Berrylicious card stock base, then built my scene using MSTN Christmas Cuteness and MSTN Christmas Cuteness Die-namics, cut from X-Press It Blending Card, stamped with Black Licorice hybrid ink, and colored with Copic markers. I used Blueprints 21 Die-namics and Lemon Drop card stock and Banana Split card stock for the sun, and Sweet Tooth card stock for the Flat-Bottom Clouds Die-namics and Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics. I popped layers up on foam and tied hemp cord around after stamping the sentiment with Black Licorice hybrid ink.

On the inside, Gift Card Pocket – Horizontal Die-namics was cut from the new Brown Paper Bag card stock and assembled. Brown Paper Bag card stock is AWESOME for creating pockets!! It’s lighter in weight than Kraft card stock so it creates less bulk—love it! I stamped a sentiment from Gifting Fun on the pocked with Wild Cherry dye ink and Black Licorice hybrid ink and adhered it to a panel of Sweet Tooth card stock stamped with Sheet Music Background and Black Licorice hybrid ink. It, and the Wild Cherry card stock layer under it, were cut with dies from Blueprints 20 Die-namics.

MFT October Release Countdown, Day Five + a Video

Hey, everyone, and welcome to Day Five of MFT October Release Countdown! Today we’re previewing Tag Builder Blueprints 2 Die-namics, Gift Card Grooves Die-namics, Gifting Fun, and Herringbone Bricks Stencil. Today’s video will show you how I created the embossed resist background with the soon-to-be-released Fine Chevron Background and how I created the gift card holder with Gift Card Grooves Die-namics and Gifting Fun. You can see the video by clicking on the button below or HERE on YouTube.




Here’s a close up of the card elements, including the embossed resist background, some embossing with a stencil, and a sentiment from Gifting Fun.



The rainbow panel was created by first heat embossing with Fine Chevron Background, using Sweet Tooth pigment ink, heat embossing with white embossing powder, and sponging on ink, from left to right: Grape Jelly ink, Blue Raspberry ink, Sour Apple ink, Lemon Drop ink, Orange Fizz ink, and Wild Cherry ink. The horizontal strip was dry embossed with a new stencil, Positive Sign Stencil. The sentiment, from Gifting Fun, was stamped on an Oval STAX Set 2 Die-namics, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock and layered on a new Stitched Oval STAX Die-namics, cut from Black Licorice card stock and popped up on foam.

On the inside are images from Gifting Fun, plus the money or gift card slot make with Gift Card Grooves Die-namics.
