Santa Baby - CTD #169

Here we are at another Color Throwdown challenge! This week, another new member is hosting. Lori is challenging us to use these colors in a project.

I decided to bring out an older MFT set: Santa Baby. I gotta tell ya, I love this set. So sassy! I totally let my patterned paper do the work here--and why not? It's perfect! I stamped the sentiment on a Notched Tag Die-namics die cut and attached it with a button andsome vintaged-up Maraschino Red baker's twine to my seam binding bow. I used the recently released Crown Border Die-namics die for the border and distressed up all the other edges.

Here's the inside with the image from the set along with another sentiment. Heh, heh.

Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD169 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including November's Guest Designer.

Red, White, and Black Joy - C4C #114

Happy Saturday!

So, it's time for Crazy 4 Challenges! Today Joycelyn is challenging us to use black and white and...any other color. Mmmmmmm, I LOVE black and white and most any other color :) Still working on building my Christmas card stash so I got out my well-and-truly-loved MFT Christmas Ornament Die-namics dies for this little number. The "Joy" sentiment on the little tag is from the set.

The sentiment on the inside is from Clearly Sentimental About Christmas. Very classic and elegant, I think.

And that's all for me for now! Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you!
THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C114.

Hi, everyone, it's MFT VIP time! It is a LIMITED QUANTITY product that gives you the opportunity to purchase upcoming stamp sets and a new Die-namics die THREE WEEKS early. What? Where is WTG, you ask?" Well, we decided to shake things up a bit this month and bring you two little PI cuties instead! Surprise!!! Here's what the VIP package will contain this month and it's available right now right HERE!

Pure Innocence Winter Cuties VIP Collection $37.95
Pure Innocence Ice Princess stamp set
Pure Innocence Holly Girl stamp set
Winter Cuties Sentiments mini (VIP exclusive stamp set - will never be offered for sale or be available again $9 value, FREE)
Oval Open Scallop Doily Die-namics Die

You can see what the rest of the design team has using these two sets at Kim's blog, HERE.

For my first card I'm using PI - Holly Girl. She's colored with Copic markers and her dress is paper pieced, then she's matted with the Oval Open Scallop Doily Die-namics die cut. I'm also using the Crown Border Die-namics (released last month), and my sentiment was stamped on a flag from my old stand-by favorite, First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics with a little holly accent using Christmas Ornaments Die-namics.

Here's the inside with another sentiment from the set.

And here we have PI - Ice Princess. Sa-WEET, is she not?! She is also colored with Copics and her skating costume is paper pieced. And she is also matted with a Oval Open Scalloped Doily Die-namics die cut. LOVE it. I used last month's Icicle Border Die-namics and another flag for the sentiment, but this time along with a snowflake from Let It Snowflake Die-namics.

I added some sparkle to the icicle border with my sticker maker and clear glitter.

And here's the inside of this card with another sentiment. I left off the "10" and added it with numbers using By the Numbers Die-namics.

Season's Greetings - MFTWSC #45

Happy Monday! I'm getting around to MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge for last week. Here’s this week’s sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

For my card I used the new Clearly Sentimental About Christmas set and made a poinsettia by using the Upsy Daisy Die-namics die. I LOVE how it turned out! I cut two copies of each size, stacked them, and fluffed them up a bit. Then I added a couple of leaves and some tiny gold flat-back beads for the center buds. I stamped the sentiment on a flag from the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics set and underlined it with some Copic-colored tiny pearls. I made my border with a couple of layers of Simply Scallops, Medium Die-namics, and of course the tag is from the Tag, You're It! Die-namics set.

Here's the inside with another sentiment from the set along with a Hearts a Plenty Die-namics heart dressed up with holly from the new Christmas Ornaments Die-namics set. OMGosh! There's just so much you can do with Die-namics dies!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Season's Greetings - C4C #113

It's Saturday so it must be Crazy 4 Challenges day! Joycelyn's back to day with a fun challenge! Today we're doing things in threes: three papers, three die cuts or punched elements, and three embellishments. Sooooo, here's mine: three papers (Fossil, Cherry Cobbler card stocks, patterned paper--2 for good measure :)); three die cuts: Simply Scallops Medium, Layered Labels, and Upsy Daisy Die-namics; and three embellishments: flower, twine, pearls. The sentiment is from MFT's Clearly Sentimental About Christmas, stamped on part of the Layered Labels Die-namics set. I love how that Upsy Daisy looks like a poinsettia! Love it! I added some tiny little gold flat back beads for the center.

Here's the inside with another sentiment from the set. Another mail-friendly card to add to my stash!

And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C113.

MFT November Creative Challenge - Go Vintage

Welcome to this month's MFT Design Team Creative Challenge! This month we're being challenged to go vintage! You can see the list of participating design team members at Kim's blog HERE

OK! Vintage. Not a problem!! I chose to use the just released Inspired by Christmas set for my project today. First, I stamped the sleigh image on Kraft card stock with black ink, cut it out, and sponged around the edges with Antique Linen Distress ink before matting it with an an Oval Dainty Doily Die-namics die cut. I did some stitching, added some vintage-looking crocheted lace, some seam binding, some stick pins, and a twine-tied button. All very vintage-y :)

Here's the inside with a stamped off version of the sleigh and a sentiment from the set.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Merry Christmas Packaging - C4C #112

Hi, all, this is going to be a quick post. It's time for Crazy 4 Challenges and this week's challenge is to create a gift package. Get all the details at the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.

I had a few of these little wooden "bags" in my stash so I got one out and made a little gift bag out of it.

First I covered it with patterned paper from Basic Grey's Nordic Holiday line, then made a tag to go on it. I cut the tag base with MFT's Tag, You're It! Die-namics die, added some patterned paper, and cut about a million little holly leaves using MFT's new Christmas Ornaments Die-namics set. I made a wreath with the holly leaves and the sentiment flag is made with the Fishtail Banner Die-namics set. I added some red "berries" and tied it on the wooden bag with some baker's twine. I love how it turned out!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you, including our new member - Dawn Easton of Treasure Oiler Designz.

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C112.

Joy To the World - MFTWSC #44

Are you ready for this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge? Here’s this week’s sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I had the hardest time picking out my papers for this card, LOL!!! I'm using the newly released PI - Christmas Caroler. Her little dress is paper pieced, and everything else was colored with Copic markers.

See how perfectly she fits on the new oval doily dies? This is the Oval Dainty Doily Die-namics die and was just released, as was the Icicle Border Die-namics die that I use on my horizontal element. My sentiment was stamped on one of the flags from First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics die set (seriously, what in the world did I do before I had this?!). A little stitching, a little seam binding bow, and ti was done!

Here's the inside with another sentiment from the set.

That's it for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by!
