I went kinda CAS with this card. First of all I cut out all my rainbow pieces with my Die-namics Rainbow die, then I assembled the rainbow and set it aside. Happily, I had all the colors of my rainbow in baker’s twine so I decided to wrap them around the top layer of my card front. I looked though my stash for a button with slits instead of holes through which to thread the baker’s twine but I didn’t have any white ones. What’s a girl to do? Why, she makes her own with Die-namics Button Quartet :)

To convert the holes to slits, I simply connected two holes on each side by cutting a portion out with my craft knife. Then I smoothed the edges with a emery board that I had cut in half lengthwise to get into small areas like this.

Here’s a close up of the sentiment and the twine threaded through the slits and wrapped around to the back.

And here’s a close up of the rainbow with clouds, using Die-namics Cloud Trio, popped up on foam dots. To finish the card off, some clear Dew Drops in the upper right corner add some balance.

Don’t Be Blue–C4C #126

It’s time again for that crazy challenge, Crazy 4 Challenges! Today, Frances is challenging us to make a fun fold card. You can get all the details at the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.

OK, I knew this was coming at some point, LOL! Frances LOVES fancy folded cards and wants us to as well :) I’ve truly been meaning to make one of these cards but just never got around to it. Now I have and I have to admit it was sorta fun ;-)

I’m using MFT’s soon to be released set, Umbrella Die-namics and Stamp Set. Super cute sentiments and an adorable umbrella die! I decided to make my umbrella one of those vinyl rainbow types, so first of all, I cut out the umbrella base with some acetate card stock.

Then I cut out the individual rib sections in rainbow colors and adhered them on. Good thing about the acetate is you can scoot the rib pieces around a little bit for accurate placement.

Here’s the finished umbrella, up close. How sweet is that?????

I also thought it would be cute to create a little scene—you know I like to do that :) So, blue patterned paper background, green grass using Die-namics Fresh Cut Grass, some clouds using Die-namics Flat-Bottom Clouds, and a Die-namics Sunshine sun. I tied some twine around on top of the grass strip, added a button and a Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon fishtail for the sentiment.

Flourishes Focus–Irish Blessing

Welcome to Flourishes Focus! Today we’re focusing on Irish Blessing. I kept my card kinda simple—I’m really liking the white with a pop of color that I’ve been doing lately. First of all, and using Classic White card stock, I trimmed my top layer and cut out the circle with a Standard Circle Nestabilities die, then made my decorative score lines with my Scor-Buddy (LOVE that thing!). Then I laid it in place on my card base and lightly traced around the inside of the circle with a pencil so I’d be able to stamp the image correctly. After I stamped, I erased the pencil mark and colored it up with these Copic Collections:

Sunflower Collection:

Then I stamped a smaller image in the right lower corner of the top layer and colored it, finally stamping the sentiment. I popped this layer up on the card base with some foam tape. It needed a little something more, so I tried out some green Dew Drops. Didn’t really like that so I tried some clear ones. That was perfect; not too much, just right :)

I’m using several new things on my card today. First, the Big Greetings stamp set, a butterfly cut with the new Die-namics Butterflies, which coordinates with the previously released Inspired by Butterflies stamp set, the new Die-namics Royal Rose, and finally, MFT is debuting a new line of Die-namics dies called STAX. This month we have two sets of ovals—both in graduating sizes for all your matting needs :) I’m using Oval STAX 1 under the butterfly—you can see it better in the shot below. It’s matted with a Die-namics Oval Dainty Doily Duo and stitched. Oh. My. Goodness. This opens up a whole new world :)

Flopsey Goes Camping–MFT March Teaser, Day Two

Welcome back to Day Two Teaser! Today we’re showing you Inspired by Birds, Inspired by Butterflies Die-namics (coordinates with previously released Inspired by Butterflies stamp set, and Flopsey Goes Camping. I’m showing you my main bunny, Flopsey, today :)

I just HAD to make a scene with Camping Flopsey. Had to. And I decided to try to make it look like a photo in an album. This month MFT is releasing Die-namics Photo Corners which worked out perfectly for this.

Flopsey and his camp fire were stamped and colored with Copic markers, then cut out. To create my scene, I started with some starry patterned paper, then added a pebbly foreground and a strip of grass using Die-namics Fresh Cut Grass. Next I added my tree, made with Die-namics Sheltering Tree and Leaf Trio, and an embossed moon made with part of the soon-to-be-released Die-namics Behind the Camera. Love multiple-use dies :) Finally, I added the photo corners and it was done! Flopsey’s first album picture ;-)
