Sending Warm Birthday Wishes Your Way - Four Days Until MFT's November Release!

Today we're previewing SY Frost-Loving Friends Stamp Set, SY Frost-Loving Friends Die-namics, Pandas at Play Stamp Set, Pandas at Play Die-namics, Movin' & Groovin' Die-namics, Movin' & Groovin' Slimline Die-namics.

I'm using the adorable SY Frost-Loving Friends Stamp Set and Die-namics for my card today. To begin, I stamped the images on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink and colored them with Copic markers. 

For the background, I sponged Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink through Basic Shapes - Circle Stencil on Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock for the sun. I wanted it to look like a Winter sun looks so, using a larger element of the stencil, I *lightly* sponged more ink and let it dry. Once dry, I sponged the rest of the panel with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, stamped the sentiment from the set, and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

To finish it off, I adhered the colored images, mostly popped up on foam tape, and added some snowshoe tracks with Copic markers for realism.

My goodness the images in this set are so stinkin' adorable! I love the sentiment I used and decided to create a scene based on it so I went with a snowball fight scene! Holy shades of childhood, Batman!

To begin, I stamped the images on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers. To add some dimension, I used Nuvo Amplify on the snowballs and piles

The background was creating by sponging Hickory Smoke Distress Ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock and adhered it directly to a Sweet Tooth card stock base after which I stamped the sentiment. I added Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock after stamping Modern Trees Stamp Set with Milk Chocolate dye ink, using foam for dimension.

Next, all the images were popped up on foam tape and to finish off I spattered the whole thing with slightly watered-down white craft ink with a small art brush. I seriously love how this card turned out!

Warmest Wishes - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #514

 

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I hadn't used Comfy Sweater Die-namics since it's re-release so I tried it out to see if it would work with this sketch and I was happy to find it did! To begin, I used striped paper from Christmas Cheer paper pad for the horizontal elements then popped up a panel of snowflake pattern for the center vertical element. 

The sweater was cut from the lighter green tree design and the cuffs from the tiny strip (love this) and popped up on the vertical panel with foam tape.

To complete the card, a sentiment from LLD Hug in a Mug Stamp Set was heat embossed on Red Hot card stock and also popped up on foam and I finished off with Sweet Snowflakes, cut from Holly Jolly glitter card stock.

Thankful for You - Color Throwdown Challenge #618

 

Hey there and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Lynn is our hostess this week and she has some decidedly Thanksgiving-ish colors for us to play with. 

I wanted to use the word "Thankful" and nothing does that better than Impact Alphabet Die-namics. And since it makes a longer word, I made a slimline card to accommodate it.

So first, I cut Sweet Tooth card stock with Slimline Starter Die-namics and sponged Mini Cloud Edges Stencil with Orange Zest dye ink. Next I added Slimline Grassy Edges Die-namics cut from Gumdrop Green card stock and added it to it, then popped it up on foam on the background.

Modern Trees Stamp Set was stamped with Fall colors (see below), cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, and adhered directly to the background. 

Next I sponged Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock with Orange Zest and Tangy Orange dye inks, cut the letters, and popped them up on foam for dimension. The rest of the sentiment, from Essential Sentiments Stamp Set was heat embossed on Milk Chocolate card stock and also adhered with foam tape.

Hits & Highlights – Extraordinaire Stencils

 

We've long been big proponents of the versatility of stencils. This month, our team is showcasing some of that versatility by spotlighting techniques you can achieve with Extraordinaire stencils.

I love the Extraordinaire Stencils--they are so versatile! For my card today i show you how to use both parts--the positive and the negative to create a unique background. To begin, I used the negative to stencil a frame around my background panel using Kraft dye ink.

I let that dry and placed the positive element on top and sponged the center of the panel with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

Once that was dry I sponged the edges with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink and spattered with black acrylic ink.

Next i stamped Christmas Cardinals Stamp Set on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics and colored with Copic markers. 

Before adhering the stenciled panel to a Sweet Tooth card stock base, the sentiment from the set was stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink. Next the colored images were popped up on foam and it was done!
