New Arrival–C4C #146

I’m using one of MFT’s latest releases, Die-namics Airplane Greetings Die & Stamp Set Combo. I think my stitching is pretty obvious :) You know I love to create a scene and I couldn't resist doing one here. First of all, I used some sky patterned paper and added the cityscape using another recent die release, Die-namics Solid Skyline and the previously released Die-namics Skyline Border. The little street full of cars was in the patterned paper pack and worked out PERFECTLY for my little scene—I {heart} that!

OK, so then I cut out the airplane and a couple of the new Die-namics Jumbo Cloud STAX and did the sky part of the scene. The sentiment was stamped on the largest cloud die cut and it was done!

The inside has another sentiment that shows it’s a baby card!! How cute is that!? MFT card stock used on this card is Whip Cream and Tangy Orange.

Chase Your Dreams–MFTWSC #81

Are you ready for another MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge? Here’s this week’s sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I guess I made a masculine card for today’s sketch—didn’t start off intending to do that but that’s pretty much how it turned out :)

I think it’s pretty self-explanatory as far as how I followed the sketch. I cut the sentiment die out twice—once with card stock and once with patterned paper and adhered them together. I like doing this if I’m going to be popping the sentiment up on foam—it’s a little sturdier than paper alone. Then I stamped the sentiment from Die-namics Vertical Greetings Die & Stamp Set on more patterned paper and adhered it to the double die cut and popped it up. The little Die-namics Sentiment Strips die cut was accented with some tiny staples and I topped it off with a twine-tied button. some machine stitching finished it off!

Hey, Girlie!–CTD #201

Hello there, Color Throwdown fans! Thanks to everyone who played along last week for our 200th celebration, and congrats to all the winners!! The winners were posted on the Feature Stamper post yesterday, but I want to specially congratulate the winner of my blog candy, Christine Dring! Congrats Christine! If you haven’t done so already, please contact me (my email is on the left column) and I’ll arrange to get your goodies to you!

This week, the lovely Wanda is our host and she has picked some rich colors for us to work with.

I went really simple. As soon as I saw these colors I thought of some patterned paper I’ve had in my stash for a couple of years. I pulled it out and it was perfect! Using my Die-namics Hexagon die, I cut out some pieces of paper and arranged them vertically on my card in a repeat pattern. I’m using my Die-namics Polka Dot Greetings Die & Stamp Set Duo
for the sentiment. I cut it out from Whip Cream card stock, stamped the border with Riding Hood Red ink and the sentiment itself with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. Then I popped it up on foam and finished the card off with some matching gems.

We’ve got a couple of cuties again for you this month and I have a card using each of them to show you. I’m starting with PI – Picture Perfect.

As is usual for me, I stamped the image on Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 130lb paper, colored her with Copic markers, and paper pieced her skirt and top. Then I fussy cut her out and popped her up on a Die-namics At the Movies Die Only film strip element, backed with patterned paper. I wrapped some MFT Wild Cherry grosgrain ribbon around the card, tied some twine around and added the sentiment tucked under a twine-tied button. The sentiment is stamped on half of a Die-namics Sentiment Strips die cut. MFT card stock used on this card is Wild Cherry, Hot Fudge and Whip Cream.

And here’s my second card, using PI – Piggy Bank. How cute is this!? She was stamped, colored, and paper pieced as well, then cut out with a Die-namics Rectangle STAX die and matted with another.

The bottom scallop border was done with my Die-namics Simply Scallops, Small die with some pearls added. I tied around some of my favorite twine and popped up the sentiment from the set, stamped on a die cut from the Die-namics Lead the Way set that’s included in this month’s collection. MFT card stock used on this card is Whip Cream and Wild Cherry.
