MFT June Release Countdown, Day Four

Hi all and welcome to Day Four of MFT’s June Release Countdown! How cute is this penguin from BB Penguins in Paradise???? I am smitten with him!!! Too cute for words! I decided to create a little scene with him for my card today. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Then, on a strip of Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 110lb, I stamped the hibiscus image several times to use as a border along the left side of the card. I colored them with Copic markers and adhered it. Next, on some Ranger watercolor paper, I did a water color wash for my backdrop using, top to bottom, Blueberry dye ink, Summer Splash dye ink, and Kraft dye in. I added a sun cut from Daffodil card stock with the new Zig Zag Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics and added some Cloud Cover-Up Die-namics cloud, one with a sentiment from the set stamped on it with Black Licorice hybrid ink. I stamped the palm tree and my little penguin on Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 110lb cut with BB Penguins in Paradise Die-namics, stamped with the coordinating images from BB Penguins in Paradise and Black Licorice hybrid ink, and colored them with Copic markers. I popped them up on foam mounting tape and that was it! This card is also for this week’s Crazy 4 Challenges.




On the inside, I stamped another sentiment and image from the set.

MFT June Release Countdown, Day Five

Hello, there and welcome to the first day of MFT’s June Release Countdown! OMGosh! Multi-step stamping at it’s best, I tell ya! I love these flowers—and that sentiment set! Swoon!!! I wanted to make a fairly simple card that would pack a punch and these orange flowers came through! I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then cut more Sweet Tooth card stock with the new Zig Zag Stitched Oval STAX Die-namics and stamped the sentiment from Written in Watercolor with Black Licorice dye ink. Then I stamped up three of the flowers and the two leaves with the following ink, bottom up: Orange Fizz dye ink, Orange Zest dye ink, Persimmon dye ink, Limelight dye ink, Sour Apple dye ink, and Jellybean Green dye ink. The flower centers were stamped with Black Licorice dye ink. After they were stamped up the only thing left was to adhere them, some popped up on foam mounting tape, and to add a few enamel dots for balance.




Another sentiment from Written in Watercolor was stamped on the inside.

Pink Makes Anything Fabulous–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #230

Hi, everyone, I’m back again with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Challenge & Inspiration Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

So, I think I warned you that you’d be seeing lots of Flamingos Die-namics from me, right? Well, here’s another one ;-) This sketch just begged for it and who was I to argue? I started with a Grout Gray card stock base. Then I added a Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX Die-namics, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock with white embossing paste added through Small Chevron Stripes Stencil and popped up on foam mounting tape. Next is a Traditional Tags STAX Die-namics, cut from Ranger watercolor paper and water colored with Blueberry dye ink and Jellybean Green dye ink to set my scene. The sentiment, from Tickled Pink, was stamped on a Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics cut from Summer Splash card stock and positioned so as to add the “water” for the scene. I think it works, don’t you? Then I added a Cross-Stitch Circle STAX Die-namics sun, cut from Daffodil card stock, some Cloud Cover-Up Die-namics clouds, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock, and, of course, the sweet Flamingo Die-namics, cut from Tickled Pink card stock, Sweet Tooth card stock, Grout Gray card stock, and Black Licorice card stock. Some black twine and enamel dots finished it off.

Another sentiment from the set was stamped on the inside.
