MFTCPC30_2015sep25

Hi, all, I'm back with this week's MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Spearmint, Tropical Teal, Lemon Chiffon, and Gumdrop Green. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Challenge & Inspiration Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I wasn’t sure about this combo at first but I ended up loving it!! I started with a Kraft card stock base, then added a piece of Black Licorice card stock at a wonky angle. Then I did some smooshing with all of the challenge colors on Ranger Watercolor paper, tied around some black baker’s twine and popped that up on foam mounting tape also at an angle. Next up is some Dots & Stripes Fresh Paper Pack cut with Blueprints 12 Die-namics, also popped up on foam. To that I added a die cut from Words of Gratitude Die-namics cut from wood veneer and Label Maker Sentiments and Label Tape Die-namics to finish the thought. I added some stars and was done! I’m liking it!

Thankful for You–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #247

MFTWSC247_2-15sep24

Hello, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! It’s a great sketch with SO many possibilities!!

MFT_WSC_247

I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then cut a smaller panel of Sweet Tooth card stock, popped it up on foam mounting tape, and drew lines around it free hand as a border with a fine point marking pen. Next I cut a bunch of Falling Leaves Die-namics from In the Buff card stock, Grout Gray card stock, and Sno Cone card stock and sponged the edges with Grout Gray dye ink and a Mini Ink Blending Tool and adhered them to the card front with hot glue. I stamped the sentiment, from DC Thankful Leaves, on Sweet Tooth card stock with Black Licorice dye ink, layered it on Black Licorice card stock, adhered it on the leaves and it was done!

And that’s it! I love those soft colors for a Fall card so much!! Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Thanks for Your Hospitality–CTD #361

CTD361_2015sep23

Hey, everyone, it’s time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! Tammy chose this week’s colors based on her fun inspiration piece!

swatch 361

I muted my green and yellow a bit, but they’re there!. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then added a strip of Dots & Stripes Sorbet Paper Pack on the left side. Next is another panel of Sweet Tooth card stock with some embossing paste spread through MPD Scallops Stencil and popped it up on foam mounting tape. Then I made some circles by using Double Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics and Circle STAX Set 2 Die-namics and adhered them to the base. Next up is a double ended flag from Blueprints 12 Die-namics cut from Black Licorice card stock and stamped with a sentiment from BB Polynesian Paradise with Versamark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. That was also popped up on foam before added the darling pineapple. It was stamped on Ranger watercolor paper cut with BB Polynesian Paradise, stamped with BB Polynesian Paradise and Black Licorice hybrid ink. It was colored with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and also popped up on foam.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD361 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd361 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented September Guest Designer, Kelly Latevola!
