MFT September Design Team Creative Challenge

 creativechallenge1_2013sep17

The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, Playful Peek-a-Boos!  Look forward to an assortment of creations from today's participating designers as we explore the many uses of all of the peek-a-boo Die-namics dies at MFT.  Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all the designers who have a project to share with you today.

Hi, all, and welcome to this month’s Creative Challenge! I have two cards for you using peek-a-boo dies. The first one uses Die-namics Scattered Stars. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base and added a Nightshift Blue card stock layer into which I cut the stars. Measuring carefully, I cut a piece of silver glitter paper and adhered it to the base, then popped the Nightshift Blue card stock layer up on foam. Before I did that, though, I tied around some silver cord in a bow. I cut the largest part of Die-namics Layered Label with more silver glitter paper and popped it up on foam. Then I cut the smaller part with Nightshift Blue card stock and heat embossed the sentiment, from Bold Statements with silver embossing powder. I popped that layer up, as well, and it was done.

Another sentiment from Bold Statements was stamped on the inside with dark blue ink.

My second card uses Die-namics Peek-a-Boo Chevrons. I love how there’s one long strip and then several shorter sections in this set—you can mix and match to create any combination you want :)

This card also started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Using a sheet of Sweet Tooth card stock, I cut my chevron sections out and stamped the sentiment, from LJD Grand Greetings with Steel Gray ink. Again, I carefully measured, and adhered Sour Apple card stock, Black Licorice card stock, and Grapesicle card stock scraps under where the cutouts would be. To finish it off, I added some enamel dots, tying the colors together.

The inside of this card has a sentiment from Clearly Sentimental About Sympathy.
