It’s time!! MFT’s May Release is NOW!! All of the products we’ve been showing you for the past week are available for purchase so hop on over to the MFT store and get yours! I’m going to show you a few cards focusing on You Were Meant to Sparkle stamp set, along with a few other just released products.
For my first card, I started with a Black Licorice card stock base card, then stamped a piece of Grout Gray card stock with Grout Gray ink and Linen Background. I cut it out with Rectangle Frames Die-namics and set it aside. Next, I stamped up a background using last month’s Bokeh Builder on Sweet Tooth card stock with Sour Apple ink, Sno Cone ink, and Berrylicious ink. Then I stamped the word “SPARKLE” from the set on some vellum with Versamark and heat embossed with champagne embossing powder. I layered that on the Bokeh paper and framed it with the Rectangle Frames Die-namics I had standing by. The rest of the sentiment was stamped on a strip of Sweet Tooth card stock with Steel Gray ink and popped up on foam. To finish it off, I added some clear acetate sequins cut with Sequins Die-namics.
Here’s a close up of the embossed sentiment.
And the inside, with another sentiment from the set.
*****
My second card is a shaker card.
It started with a Kraft card stock base, to which I added a Sweet Tooth card stock layer stamped with Natural ink and Linen Background, popped up on foam. You can’t really tell in this photo—all of the sparkles threw my camera off—but the hemp twine I tied around has a silver thread running through it.
I made the shaker element with LLD Insert It – Instaframe Die-namics and filled it with sequins made from colored vellum and Sequins Die-namics It was also popped up on foam, and the top part of the sentiment, stamped with Steel Gray ink on Sweet Tooth card stock, was adhered. The bottom part was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with fine detail silver embossing powder and accented with a few Sequins Die-namics
Another sentiment was stamped on the inside with Steel Gray ink.
*****
My third card is very simple.
It starts with a Steel Gray card stock base, then I stamped the sequin images from You Were Meant to Sparkle in a rainbow palette, using Red Hot Hybrid ink, Orange Fizz Hybrid ink, Lemon Drop Hybrid ink, Sour Apple Hybrid ink, Blu Raspberry Hybrid ink, and Grape Jelly Hybrid ink. The top line of sentiment was stamped with Steel Gray ink and the bottom was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with silver glitter embossing powder. I matted this layer with metallic silver card stock and popped it up with foam on the base.
Another sentiment from the set was stamped on the inside.
*****
My final card was so much fun to make!
It started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then I trimmed another piece of Sweet Tooth card stock on which to work. I stamped the first line of sentiment with Steel Gray ink and the second with Versamark and heat embossed it with gold glitter embossing powder, then spritzed it with gold spray. I cut the feathers from LLD Accent It – Feathers and Arrows from Sweet tooth card stock, spritzed them with gold spray, as well, and then heat embossed the ends with gold glitter embossing powder. I adhered them to the card and finished off with some Sequins Die-namics cut from gold mirror card stock.
Another sentiment and more sequins are on the inside.
And that’s it from me! Thanks so much for stopping by…and happy shopping!! And don’t forget that MFT will be giving away TWO $100 vouchers—to have a chance to win one, be sure to comment on each of the designers’ blogs by end of the day on Thursday, May 14. The winners will be announced on the MFT Blog on the Release Rewind Day Two post on Friday.

ReplyDeleteOh Barbara, I hope you don't get a duplicate of this as I just left you a comment on each of your cards and then the link said it had an error 530. :O( So, Let me just say that I really love all three of your cards. I love how you list what you do with your cardstock as well as what cardstock and color you are using. I think that first card is simply beautiful with your clear acetate sequins that you cut out. Really really pretty. Your second card is so fun with your shaker card full of colorful sequins as well. Love the little bow tied at the top. It really adds just that finishing touch. As for your third card well,.... if only I could manage something so awesome. I really love how you have make a rainbow (curved none the less) out of your sequin stamps. That is just too cool and I can just imagine my daughter wanting me to make her BFF something like your card. It really does rock! Thanks for sharing. Hugs Lisa G
