With Sympathy–MFT Color Challenge #37

MFTCPC37_2016jan14

Hi, all, I'm back with MFT Color Challenge #37! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Spearmint, Green-Eyed Monster, Blue Yonder, and Cornflower. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I decided these colors would be perfect for a sympathy card so I kept it pretty simple, using LJD Grand Peaceful Wildflowers for a silhouette look. I started with a Stone Gray card stock base, then did a watercolor wash with Peerless Watercolors to add the challenge colors. And since I’m addicted to Distressed Patterns, I added some images from it with Black Licorice hybrid ink, then popped it up on foam mounting tape. I used hybrid ink for it’s waterproof properties in case I needed to do any more watercoloring.

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock cut with Blueprints 24 Die-namics, and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder, then also popped up on foam.

And that’s it! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope to see you playing along with this color challenge! See you soon!

  1. You're also getting addicted to Peerless watercolors too! Nothing wrong with that. I'm just paying a lot of attention as to how you are using them to learn. I have them all in my craft room (and I'm dying to see you do a video on yours!). I just have to break them out and not be such a chicken. Beautiful card and inspiration, as always :)

    1. Cindy, yes I am addicted to them!!! I do plan to do a video using them ASAP--hopefully in a couple of weeks. Break those puppies out and play with them on scraps of watercolor paper! There's no right or wrong way--just let your creativity flow! Thank you for the very kind words!!

  2. You're also getting addicted to the Peerless Watercolors too, although there is nothing wrong with that. I'm definitely learning a lot from you. I have them all in my craft room and haven't even opened them yet. I guess I'm a little chicken. Thank you for always providing such great inspiration and learning. I would LOVE to see a video of your craft room too! Have a great day Barb!
