I Love You To Pieces–CTD #378

CTD378_2016feb3

Hi, everyone, it’s time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!! Lori is our hostess this week and she has chosen a sweet color combo inspired by an equally sweet Valentine-theme inspiration piece.

I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then added a strip of Dots & Stripes Neutral Paper Pack to the right side. Next I trimmed a piece of Ranger Watercolor paper and got to work on it. I did a watercolor wash with Peerless Watercolors, stamped Grid Background with Steel Gray dye ink, and added some Distressed Patterns with Wild Cherry dye ink and Pink Lemonade dye ink. Then I cut out Candy Jar Die-namics and set about to make a shaker element. I used heat resistant acetate for the window and used Silver Shine card stock for the lid and the base.

I filled it with Pretty Pink Posh sequins and popped it up on the base with foam mounting tape after tying around some baker’s twine. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark on Steel Gray card stock cut with Blueprints 20 Die-namics, and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. I popped that up as well and finished off with some enamel dots.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD378 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd378 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented February Guest Designer, Kay Miller!

You might notice an addition to the team ;-) We enjoyed having Amy Rysavy playing along as guest designer so much last month that we simply couldn’t let her go, so she’s joining the team as of today!! Woohoo—we are so excited to have her!! Welcome to the team, Amy!!
